QUESILLO (STEP BY STEP/WITH EXPLANATORY PHOTOS)

in #cooking6 years ago (edited)

Good afternoon Steemians, I hope you are well... In this opportunity I am going to share with you the recipe of a typical Venezuelan dessert "el quesillo".

Each family has its own particular preparation, using ancestral recipes in which the grandmothers added their magic touches of: grated coconut, orange, lemon, liqueur, cinnamon, vanilla, almond essence... So in each home, all the quesillos will have a different touch than the others.

I hope you enjoy the "step by step" of this succulent recipe and are encouraged to prepare this delicious quesillo, which will sweeten even more the snacks between family and friends...

You will need the following ingredients:

  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup liquid milk
  • 1 can condensed milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla essence or extract
  • 4 tablespoons sugar (to prepare caramel)

The first step is to prepare the caramel for this procedure: place the quesillera on a "medium" heat with 4 spoonfuls of sugar.

While the sugar is acquiring the caramel tonality, we must turn the container so that the walls are impregnated.

We can observe how little by little it gets darker...

The color of the caramel will depend if they like dark, as the "amber" or a little more tenuous, the darker the taste of the caramel will be intense and bitter to the palate, particularly I like intermediate as the yellow shade of sunflower.

Once the caramel is ready, remove it from the burner and set aside.

At this point, we will begin to prepare our delicious mixture.

The first ingredient that we will mix at "high" speed will be the 4 eggs, in case they do NOT have an electric mixer they can make it in a blender; the great thing about this preparation is that if they do not have some appropriate electric device, they can mix it manually.

Next we add the cup of liquid milk...

Add a spoonful of vanilla essence and mix well.

It's my turn to incorporate my favorite ingredient, creamy, appetizing condensed milk... The sweet temptation, which our palate appreciates and in which ALL of us have succumbed at some point. :D

We place the mixture in the quesillera...

We are now in the final straight, let's incorporate the mixture into a pot and leave it at "high" temperature for 45 minutes.

  • Important tips: the water level must be less than half, so that at the time of boiling DO NOT enter the mixture. We'll start counting the 45 minutes after it starts boiling.

Friends, I present to you our succulent quesillo...

Creamy, appetizing, all a delicacy and a festival on the palate.

I hope, that you like it and prepare it, any doubt with pleasure I answer it in my kitchen.

With this ration... @kristal24 wishes you all the best!
