The influence of titles to your artworks...

in #creativecoin5 years ago

"Room with a view" could be some request when you make a hotel reservation...it also could be a reference to the James Ivory film...or the title of your latest artwork. And here we go again, talking about the importance of titles to artworks.

Some artists have problems entitling their work and reach out to social network friends asking for help in this field...others are quite sure that a pompous title will fill their otherwise empty work with meaning.
Personally I think that titles are an important part to the work and might reveal what you had in mind while creating the art...at the same time the title will help the viewer to look at the work in a way that you intended and still leaving enough space to bring his own meaning to the work.

But in the end, you make the title, the title doesn't make you.

I was one of those that asked their friends to put the titles at my artworks, lol. I dont know why but when i begun i had a great problem with the titles. My mind was always stuck, but in time i understood that the title is an important part of the artwork and cannot treat it in this way.
