Karthik Last ball 6 was not enough to stop New Zealand from T20 Trophy

After defeating the ODI series by 4-1 against India. New Zealand finally ended the series by clinching the T20 trophy. New Zealand won the 3 match series by 2-1. This is the story of India, New Zealand series.

Earlier India won the toss and decided to field first. New Zealand openers Seifert & Munro provided a great start. Openers provided 80 runs stand. Seifert departed after scoring 43 runs. Williamson joined Munro in the middle. Both made a decent partnership of 55 runs.

Munro scored 72 runs. His inning was furnished with 5 fours and 5 sixes. Williamson scored 27 runs. Grandhomme quick 30 runs in 16 balls and Mitchell 11 ball 19 runs helped New Zealand to manage 212 runs on the board in alloted 20 overs.

For India Kuldeep Yadav was the most successful bowler. He conded only 26 runs in 4 over and picked 2 important wickets. Kumar & Khalil picked 01 wicket each

In response India last Dhawan early. He scored 5 runs. Vijay Shankar joined captain Rohit Sharma in the middle. Both strengthen India position in the match. Shankar departed after scoring 43 runs. Pant quick 28 runs in just 12 balls made India favorite. Couple of quick wickets brought New Zealand back in game. Sharma departed after scoring 38 runs, Pandya scored 21 runs in 11 balls, Dhoni only manged 2 runs. At that time India required 68 runs in 28 balls. Karthik & Pandya maintained a decent run rate. India required 47 runs in last 3 over. Southee conceded 18 runs in the 18th over leaving behind 30 runs in the last 2 over. Kuggeleijn conceded 14 runs in the penultimate over left 16 runs in the last over.

New Zealand won the match by 4 runs. Karthik scored 33 runs in 16 balls and Pandya managed 26 runs in 13 balls.Southee kept his head cool and India managed only 11 runs in the final over. Last ball 6 by Karthik didn't help India to surpass New Zealand gigantic target. New Zealand won the match by 4 runs. For New Zealand Mitchell & Santner took 2 wickets each. Collin Munro was declared player of the match award for his brilliance with the bat.
