Pakistani captain Sarfaraz Ahmad won the toss and decided to bat first. Kane Williamson also wished the same on winning the toss. New Zealand openers provided a great start by picking inform opener Babar Azam & Sahibzada Farhan early. At this stage Pakistan was 10 for 2 in 3.1 over. Asif Ali was promoted in batting order. He was given chance at number 3 spot. Mohammad Hafeez came to the crese after the loss of Sahibzada Farhan wicket. Both cricketers made a decent partnership of 67 runs. Hafeez innings ended as a result of brilliant catch by Southee on the bowling of Milne. Hafeez made 45 runs. Asif Ali scored 24 runs.

Sarfaraz quick 34 and Imad Waseem 14 helped Pakistan to put 148 runs on the board. Dropped chance of Imad Waseem on first ball costed New Zealand a boundary & six in the last two balls. For New Zealand Milne took 2 wickets.
In response New Zealand openers provided a great start.They scored 50 runs in the first power player for the loss of one wicket. Situation was favoring New Zealand team but Pakistani spinners brought team back by picking wickets in crucial time. Munro made 58 runs. Dismissal of Munro reduced run flow and dismissal of Williamson added more pressure to New Zealand. Grandhomme run out and Anderson 9 runs in 12 balls left behind 26 runs to win in the last two over. Taylor tried his best to win for New Zealand but his efforts were two runs short. Newzealand managed to score 146 runs in alloted 20 overs.

Mohammad Hafeez conceded 13 runs in 3 over. His quick innings of 45 runs and economical bowling rewarded him the man of the math award. New Zealand made a great fight but at the end Pakistan won the match. Let's see what happens in the next match.
