Georgia Cop Fired After Dashcam Footage Is Released

in #criminal6 years ago

Taylor Saulters of the Athens-Clarke County police department, was fired for striking suspect with car during chase.

“I didn’t hit him with the car, I blocked him with the car,” he said. “He ran into the hood of my car and bounced off.”

Taylor Saulters was quoted making that statement and it has caused quite the uproar. According to reports; the suspect is 23 year-old Timmy Patmon, who was wanted on a felony warrant. Patmon decided to flee on foot so Saulters attempted to "block" him with his car and in doing so he ended up popping one of his tires. Shortly after, another attempt was made and the suspect ended up on top of the police cruiser, eventually tumbling to the ground.

In the first picture you see his left hand on what would be 1 o'clock on his steering wheel which to me (personally) shows it was intentional. I make this judgement based on the pics displayed above and because it clearly contradicts his statement.

When Saulters was making the arrest he unholstered his taser gun and threatened to use it on Patmon if he did not comply and obey the orders given.

Initially Saulters was suspended June 1, but at the end he ended up losing his job due to such negligence. An investigation is taking place to determine whether Saulters should be charged as a criminal, according to the police department.
