📚 My Desire for Knowledge About Cryptocurrency

Hey, everyone!

For about 2 weeks now, I have been surrounded by other crypto enthusiasts because of an amazing opportunity. But the biggest difference between me and them is that they know pretty much all of the technicalities about blockchain and how certain coins function. It actually blew my mind just how much I don't know about this crypto world.

There were two experiences that really changed my perspective on my current crypto stance.

Crypto Invest Summit

VEZT Panel Meetup

Both of these events were INCREDIBLE and extremely eye-opening. For the Crypto Invest Summit, there were a lot of big names at the event. People like billionaire VC and early crypto adopter, Tim Draper and Abra CEO, Bill Barhydt, were panelists at the event. The amount of knowledge at the event was overwhelming. When I stepped into the LA Convention Center, I thought I had a firm understanding of blockchain and its capabilities. Although the event confirmed everything that I knew, it made me realize that I was barely at the tip of the crypto iceberg. At the event, I learned about the differences between utility and security tokens, different crypto projects in multiple industries, and an even deeper insight into the change and disruption that is incoming due to the technological innovation that is blockchain.

At the VEZT event, I got to learn a different use-case for blockchain technology. For those of you who don't know what VEZT is all about, it's essentially putting the power back into the hands of the musical artists and allowing music fans to share ownership of their favorite artist's music. It's a crazy project with the backing of well known musical celebrities such as Dr. Dre. I don't have any VEZT tokens, but I still think they're a cool project and worth checking out. Check out VEZT here.

Both of these events sparked a strong desire for knowledge inside of me. I have a general understanding of blockchain technology and of Bitcoin's history. But now I feel like it's not enough! I want to learn all of the technicalities about blockchain technology.

Everything that I'm doing and learning with the people I'm working with has solidified my desire to be involved in the crypto industry. I'm a social media marketer by trade but every time that I'm asked to do some crypto work, I get extremely excited. I love looking through multiple ICO projects and seeing how different people are utilizing blockchain technology. There are some crazy and ambitious projects out there and I love it!

Now that I'm deeper into the crypto world, I need to step up my knowledge acquisition grind. I need to start attending more events and start reading more material in order to learn all that I can about cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology. I know that there are a lot of people out there that know a lot more about crypto than me, so I will gladly accept advice and mentorship. :D

It's go time!

Best Wishes!

Beautiful and informative post -- I have been trying to learn all I can about Cryptocurrency for a while now but I am not in a position to attend conferences at the moment. It is safe to say that you're living the life.

Keep the good work on but let me ask you a question: what are the resources that you would suggest to a person who wants to gain a technical understanding of the Blockchain technology? Looking forward to your response.

Thanks for the comment, @kopt33! I asked the same question to a good friend of mine. This friend has been a blockchain developer for about 3 years now and is working on developing his own ICO. After asking him how to gain a technical understanding of blockchain technology, he told me to take a deep dive into Bitcoin's and Ethereum's whitepapers. He said that once you read them and study them, you will fully understand blockchain technology. What better way to understand blockchain technology than from the source? Definitely, something I'm going to be doing in the next few days! Haha

Makes a whole lot of sense... the only issue there is is that it can be hard to understand the white papers because they are packed with highly technical concepts.

I am not coming from a technical field myself so it is a bit hard to understand from just reading whitepapers alone. All in all, thanks for taking the time to ask for me, I really appreciate that. Are you still at your conference?

I completely understand what you mean. The best advice that I can give you is to do some Google searches in order to better understand blockchain technology. I just saw this video and I thought it was pretty good. Maybe you'll find some benefit from it.

The two events I talk about in my blog post, the Crypto Invest Summit and the VEZT event, happened this past week. But I am definitely looking forward to attending more events to meet more crypto enthusiasts and to learn more about this growing industry!
