Hello, Steemit fellows, hello, Gridcoin supporters, how are you today? Gridcoin price has seen better days, of course, as it is also with other crypto currencies today. A recent news claimed, that it is even going to be removed from EOBOT crypto cloud mining website.

EOBOT news

To be fair, most of the GRC I had from this particular website with the means of mining the GRC coins. So it's a bit sad, that they will no longer support this coin. But that's not the point of my post today. I will review the Distributed Hardware Evolution Project (DHEP) in this post.

First to mention, the initiator of this project and the running facility is University of Sussex.

University of Sussex

The University is found in 1958 in Falmer, Sussex, England. Its major is public researches and so far is the only English university to be located in a National Park. What a better surrounding for knowledge-hungry students than this university's one?

So what about the DHEP? What does it deal with?

The project lets you to host an island running a GA(Generic Algorithm) in a co-evolutionary and it synthesises future electronics, which will be extremely reliable, such as the ones used in autonomous vehicles or power stations for instance. Medical equipment and aerospace host such technologies too. Nowadays more and more human lives rely on this type of Artificial Intelligence and the numbers will increase furiously.

While self learning artificial intelligence robots may seem a bit frightening, they can really be in favor of lots of disabled people, medical patients and many more. Reliability is what needs improvement, and what's better than an algorithm, that improves itself?

SDH (Self Diagnosing Hardware) is able to detect deviations from its normal pace of work due to various mistakes. This type of self diagnosing is really needed especially in some complex systems like medical equipment or transport controllers BIST (Built-in self-test) is widely used, but usually requires all the area overhead or some tests, held off-line. However in the complex systems, mentioned above, off-line testing is very unsuitable and risky, because the failure must be diagnosed immediately, without any delay at all. In the last 40 years some conventional designs have not come up with much of an improvement, so our help is needed to achieve the next generation of self-diagnosing circuits.

With automating more and more complex systems, self-checking circuits are really and most important for this stage of research. Everyone and everything can benefit from this knowledge and algorithms - medical applications, transportation, space science and industrial facilities such as power plants and many more to come in the near future. We expect cars and buses to driving themselves and be even safer than today. Surgical operations will have the cnahce to be performed remotely and who knows what else. The price of this can be human lives, or vast economic losses.

What is the reason to join the DHEP?
By joining DHEP you would for sure make a priceless contribution to the most exciting research of all the time, and you will really help pushing the computer science over the limits of human knowledge. Additionally, the circuits produced inside this particular project are times better than those of the conventional design. This will lead our society to safer systems leading our society towards better days, when many lives and money will be saved.

So what are you waiting? Come and join Gridcoin and BOINC projects and why not build a better future by choosing the DHEP?

See ya soon!

I was running the program on after seeing a post here about it awhile back. My HP laptop was not getting any real process and the run time for one project was several weeks till completion. I eventually removed the project. Guess you need a decent computer to see actual results. I won't run it on my desktop becuase that is busy running cacer projects for World Community Grid. When I replace the laptop with a better faster one I will consider taking the project on again.

Absolutely deserves giving it another try! The stuff behind this project sounds really awesome.

Just started it again made a few slight adjustment to my computer. Hope it gets bettter results.
