Countinghouse Fund: Tokens backed by Investment Fund

in #crypto6 years ago (edited)

We’ve seen a trend for tokenizing many things to make participation in ownership easier. We can now have tokens backed by collectible cars, real estate, and even art. Countinghouse is a hedge fund that is using tokens to make participating in managed investment easier. Countinghouse is a hedge fund that has traded fiat for a long time. The fund has made a lot of money on volatility so wants to join crypto because this is the most volatile market right now. The fund believes it can make huge returns in the crypto market. At the same time the fund is making it very easy to be a part of it.

CountingHouse is offering tokens backed by an investment fund. The money Countignhouse raises will be put in a fund that will trade crypto. tokens bought in the ICO will be backed by the money in the crypto trading fund. Countinghouse is making it possible to track the liquid value of the fund and this wil make it easy to know the value of the tokens. People will know the value of the fund at any point so they can know what their share in the fund is worth. Because the tokens issued are tradable people can forfeit their stake in the fund by selling their tokens to anyone at any point.

Usually people get locked in when they join a trading fund. Countinghouse is showing that tokenizing a fund makes the investment very liquid and gives any person’s ownership a real-time value. The interesting thing is that if the token prices fall less than the liquid value of the fund, Countinghouse will buy back tokens. So this makes the tokens extremely liquid. If the tokens fall so low, the fund itself will be the buyer. So even in a bad market situation, the fund will give people the opportunity to exit.

Hedge funds are naturally risky since they trade on leverage. Some people might join the investment now but my not be able to stomach the big changes the market will cause in their investment. For people who realize this too late, Countinghouse is a good place to start with managed invesmtnet in crypto because it will be very easy to exit.

This is the first pure tokenized hedge fund I've seen. Some other products are more along the lines of crypto mutual funds.

I have come across some of the mutual funds using tokenization. The problem I felt with them was that they didn't integrate algorithmic trading yet.
