The Crypto Street Podcast Talks Growth, Doxxing, Must- Follows, and What’s Next

TL;DR: The hosts reflect on where they began and hint about where they’re going

It’s Memorial Day weekend, and cryptocurrency podcast host K1ller Wh4le has numerous backyard barbecues to attend. Right now we’re on a balcony overlooking Beverly Hills, waiting on his girlfriend to finish making margaritas. He’s seated in a director’s chair, leaning forward in his signature t-shirt, jeans, and Vans, with his hair neatly combed. He seems harmonized, perfectly comfortable in his own skin, and he’s uncommonly attentive and instantly likable. “We’re just getting started,” he says, thinking about the many opportunities he sees for himself and his fellow Crypto Street Podcast hosts, CryptoDale and Prince.

“My future is in crypto. Our future is in crypto,” he says about himself, Prince, and Dale. “We have come such a long way since we started last November. And together we have plans to go further.”

The margaritas come, and then more margaritas come, and by the third round of margaritas, it becomes clear that K1ller Wh4le, CryptoDale, and Prince were born to be the best of friends and collaborators online, and in real life too. That’s not just the booze talking.

Twenty years ago, when I would interview new celebrities for Rolling Stone, I always broke the ice with an easy and fun prompt.

K1ller: Favorite Disney princess. Jasmine, obvi.

I was going to ask you to discuss your first sexual encounter that occurred while you were intoxicated.

K1ller: T'was the night my virginity was taken from me. A Mexican girl dressed like a cheerleader on Halloween.

I like where this is going. Please continue.

K1ller: (laughs) One sec.

Okay, let’s consider the ice to be broken. You guys have one of the most popular and fun crypto podcasts around. How did the three of you meet and decide that the trio would do well with a podcast?

CryptoDale: Favorite Disney princess? Moana, duh. K1ller started the Pod. One day he messaged me and Prince and asked if we wanted to start a podcast. I naturally said, “You’re fucking right I do.” I thought Prince was pretty cool, even though he kicked Dale and still feels bad about it to this day. Now we’re really like brothers. These guys are my go-tos.

I joined the Pod in its infancy, thanks to my good friend, CryptoBully. The Pod was a decent sized group even then. I was more of an observer than a talker, and I saw a lot of vibrant personalities you could have chosen from. K1ller, what was so special about Dale and Prince?

K1ller: They had great personalities and were very funny. I didn’t know them at all prior to asking them to do the podcast. I just noticed they both had good senses of humor and were smart.

What is the Pod, and why did you create it?

K1ller: The Pod started as an alternative to all the paid groups coming out. It was a free version where anyone could join and eventually morphed into a place where very influential twitter personalities congregated.

When you started the Pod, did you already know that you wanted to start a podcast, or did the podcast come out of it spontaneously after you interacted with Dale and Prince?

K1ller: Spontaneous idea. I figured there was a niche for a bro-y crypto Podcast, and we all seemed suited for that. I literally asked them the day I thought of it.

Prince, what was your take when K1ller asked you to host a podcast?

Prince: Well, when K1lller first slid in my DMs and mentioned doing a podcast, I had no real idea what podcasts were all about. Never really listened to them before Crypto Street started. I’m not the chattiest guy at times either, so I was worried I might not be a good fit.

I didn’t really have a clue what it could turn into or where it would lead, but just having the chance to work on something crypto focused, and with two individuals I respected and enjoyed chatting with, I felt like I’d be a dummy not to jump at the opportunity to try and help create something with them.

K1ller: These Qs are hitting me right in the feels, bros.

CryptoDale: Prince, dude, you can hardly say this now, you are so chatty on CSP (CryptoStreet Podcast).

Nice observation, Dale. I’ve paid attention to not only how you three have matured as a collective host working together but also how each of you individually have become more comfortable and more vocal behind the mic. Prince, you’ve shown one of the most dramatic changes, and it’s been a lot of fun to watch you grow. What’s it been like to be a quiet guy suddenly put in a public-speaking position?

Prince: Yeah, I guess just getting more comfortable was the big thing. The listeners and guests are fricking awesome. They made it so much easier on me. I used to get heavy nerves before a show when we first started.

I’m really appreciative for the opportunity. I was nervous as hell about saying yes to doing it, but I knew I’d grow. And as a young guy I find myself thinking about that a lot, “How can i grow?”

Typically growing involves some fairly uncomfortable situations where I’ve had to learn (which public speaking was for me). Getting to work with these two has been crazy for me and my personal growth. I learn so much. It’s been awesome.

There’s a bit of an age difference between you guys. Prince, do you consider Dale and Killer to be role models?

Prince: Like older brothers.

CryptoDale: Except we can’t beat you up.

K1ller: (laughs) True. That’s funny though, I consider you older than you are, Prince. It doesn’t feel like you’re any younger than me maturity-wise or in intelligence. You’re definitely a better trader than me.

CryptoDale: I agree.

Prince: You’re too kind, K1ller.

K1ller and Dale, what kinds of things does Prince teach you?

K1ller: He’s definitely better at TA and charting. He’s a solid dude. A real bro’s bro. I feel like he lives by a code which I used to live by in college, but in the adult world I feel like I’ve had to morph and change myself because of office BS.

CryptoDale: He definitely has taught me a lot. The main thing I rely on him for is TA advice and he always calms me down when markets get to me a bit. Prince is without a doubt the best trader in our group.

Dale, let’s talk about you for a minute. When the podcast first started, your voice kicked it off. How'd you end up in that role? Did you come with experience in broadcasting?

CryptoDale: I had no experience. We kind of just randomly selected me as the opening voice.

How scared were you?

CryptoDale: I was pretty fucking nervous. I bet it took me 15 - 20 episodes to get comfortable.

Earlier I mentioned the growth. I could sense you growing more and more comfortable in each episode. You've developed some real strength and confidence. Have you been able to carry that growth into other areas in your life outside of crypto?

CryptoDale: Maybe a little bit. It’s kind of funny to me that online I’m CryptoDale, but in real life I’m still me and not a ton of people know about CryptoDale.

How'd you settle on CryptoDale as your mask, not the name but the character?

CryptoDale: I had a different name at first, which I won’t disclose, and it was absolutely ridiculous. Step Brothers is one of my favorite movies, and while Brennan is hilarious, Dale makes me laugh more, so I went with it. Never did I really think I’d be at a stage where I am now, or I would have picked a cooler name.

I’m glad you mentioned how not a lot of people in real life know about CryptoDale because I want to bring up Crypto Coin Con, a conference in August in Pennsylvania where the three of you will reveal yourselves — doxxed for everyone to see. How do you guys feel about being doxxing yourselves at the conference?

CryptoDale: Personally a little worried about it, but I really think that showing our faces could lead to bigger opportunities for us. I worry about my family mostly. I don’t care about myself, to be honest.

K1ller: Yep, I’m pretty worried, but also a bit excited too.

What's the big deal about your faces? How do opportunities come out of revealing them?

CryptoDale: We all have beautiful faces (laughing).

K1ller: It’s true. I think people like to see a real human they can relate to. I also think the mystery of being anon is cool too though, so I’m curious to see how that balance plays out.

CryptoDale: Fact.

Do you worry about people possibly feeling let down by your real selves, thinking they've been deceived, that kind of thing, or do you think yourselves in real life are close to who you are on crypto Twitter and the podcast?

CryptoDale: I am a little worried, however, I feel I really am like my Twitter is portrayed.

K1ller: Same, I try to be myself on the podcast so not too concerned.

Dale, I remember the first thing I said to you in the Pod. Do you remember? I asked you to tell me your favorite color. What do you think your answer was?

CryptoDale: Oh, God, I’m scared to see.

You told me period blood red. Is that shade still your favorite?

CryptoDale: Oh my God, I’m an idiot.

It’s actually funny, in a way. You were able to say something like that in a virtual room that contains women without them being terribly offended. They stayed in the Pod, continued to follow you on Twitter, and consider you a friend. Some other personalities wouldn’t be able to elicit the same response in the same room with the same people. What’s your secret?

CryptoDale: (laughing) Boy. I mean I am pretty tight with Colleen and Miss D (Des Dickerson). And I think the others just know that’s kinda who I am but yet they know that my respect for them, women, is through the roof. I would never mean that in a disrespectful way.

When you said it, the general response was “Lol, oh, Dale.” You come across as an endearing and genuine person. Coming across as genuine in the crypto space is a difficult feat. What do you think must happen to prevent scams from hindering the progress of crypto into mainstream adoption?

CryptoDale: First off, I think people need to understand that there’s no way to get rich quick in this space. Meaning, ETH giveaways or a guaranteed 50x scam ICO. You can make a lot of money in this space, but it gets easier and easier to spot scams the longer you’ve been in this space.

How important is it to your trading style to bounce ideas off people, share charts, and so on?

CryptoDale: I’m not the most confident person when it comes to TA so I usually validate it with someone. Prince, Killer, and Ledger are my go-tos.

If you could follow only three people on crypto Twitter, would these guys be your three?

CryptoDale: Oh, boy, that’s tough, but probably.

Prince and K1ller, you can follow only three people on crypto Twitter. Who are they?

Prince: Well, I’m going to exclude the homies here right off the bat because I’d be picking them two. I think it’s more interesting with three I don’t chat with everyday. I’d probably follow Nomad, Pizpie & Messiah.

Because now that you’ve seen Messiah’s gifs, you can’t live without them?

Prince: The guy is hilarious. And so smart. An all-around awesome individual, the life he’s able to bring to crypto Twitter is unmatched, especially in the tough times.

K1ller: For me, I’d probably follow Bully, Ari Paul, and Ledger.

Has the Pod and the podcast enabled you to make a lot of new friends on crypto Twitter?

Prince: Yeah, it’s been a game changer. It’s really helped me grow. One of the craziest things for me is to watch K1ller and Dale and how good they are at networking. It’ a major weak spot for me, but those guys can make it seem so natural. I just kinda stand in awe sometimes, but I definitely have more people I’d call friends now than I did before the podcast.

Having experienced all this personal growth, Prince, and the expansion of crypto itself, where do you see yourself in the next five years? Still in crypto?

Prince: There’s no way I can see myself doing anything else. I want to be where the opportunity is. Crypto has blessed me with so much already, I think I’d be stupid to leave because there’s a lot of the story left to be written here in crypto. We are still so early to this whole thing.

K1ller: I’ll still be in crypto, probably more involved than I am now. We all have a few projects in mind.

The Pod was your making as was the podcast. Which directions do you want to take next?

K1ller: I can’t talk about them, at least not in this interview. Dale and Prince know what I’m talking about though.

Secrets are exciting. Is the podcast something you see yourselves always doing? Is the podcast at the core of what you’ll do?

K1ller: Yeah, I see myself doing it for the foreseeable future. Other projects relate to it in some fashion. It kind of works as a springboard for other things we have going on. I really do have fun doing the podcast too. I think even if I go full-time crypto I’d be depressed if I wasn’t doing something where I have to interact with people.

Do you consider yourself a people person?

K1ller: Naturally, not really. But I think it’s really important in life to have good relationships with people, so I’ve forced myself to become better at fostering them.

Your audience knows a lot about Prince and Dale and where they’re from, but they don’t get to hear as much about you. In fact, some might say you are the most mysterious one in the group. Why so mysterious, K1ller?

K1ller: I think I’m just not someone who opens up very quickly. I’m tight with Prince and Dale but broadcasting stuff about myself to the public, meh.

You have a girlfriend in real life. She’s intelligent and beautiful, by the way. What’s her take on your involvement in crypto? Does she think you're crazy?

K1ller: I’m actually surprised in how much interest she takes in it — listening to the podcast, reading Whale Reports, etc. It’s pretty cool to see someone else get interested in crypto. I think she gets that it’s a really cool thing worth spending a lot of time on.

When the time comes to ask for her hand in marriage, will you put in 1 - 2 BTC for a ring?

K1ller: (laughing) 500 Doge. Max.

Prince, do you have a significant other in your life?

Prince: No, sir.

Where do you live, Prince?

Prince: I’m just outside of Calgary actually. I have a nice mix of city life and small town life. Close to everything, but not too close.

To all the single Crypto ladies, find Prince, and put a ring on it.

Prince: Ladies, come and get me.

Your first guest on the podcast was CryptoBully, a much-beloved, all-around good guy crypto Twitter personality and the follow-up guest was The Wolf of Poloniex, a love-him- or-hate-him personality who got banned from Twitter and had to rebrand. Roger Ver, a highly controversial character, was a guest too. How do you decide who to have on the show?

K1ller: We try to have people on that people will want to hear from, no matter which side of issues they are on. In the beginning, there were all of these really cool personalities, but nobody had really given them a collective voice yet, so that was our initial aim. For repeat guests, it’s mainly people we really enjoyed speaking with. Some are naturally better talkers than others. That’s not to say we didn’t enjoy speaking with those we haven’t had on more than once.

Crypto Coin Con will be the first time the three of you will be together in the same place in real life. What’s that experience going to be like? How will you spend your free time together?

CryptoDale: Dude, it’s gonna be so awesome and surreal. I’ve met K1ller before, and it was cool as hell. I had butterflies! We are probably gonna party, really hard, I imagine.

K1ller: It’s gonna be awesome. I’m really excited for it. Like Dale said, it’s gonna be a party.

Don't forget to invite the fifth Beatle to have a drink or 12 with you.

CryptoDale: Yes, Destro. You better be there.

Dale, you have to consider the possibility that the casino will not have Busch Light. What will you drink instead?

CryptoDale: Depends. If I’m still on keto, I’ll do vodka and something, and if not I’d probably go with Yuengling or Bud Light. I should be at my goal weight by then, so I will be Gucci. I reached half my goal weight in one month.

K1ller: My new go-to might be Peroni. Peroni and Modelo. Going international, brehs!
