Fujitsu Launches Blockchain Platform For Retailers

One of Japan’s IT and equipment giant Fujitsu has announced a cloud-based Blockchain platform that will be used in the retailed sector such as a digital points, stamps and coupons.

Dubbed as the Fujitsu Intelligent Society Solution Blockchain Asset Service was announced June 6, 2018 and was aimed towards tourist sites, markets and shopping centers.

The company plans to debut the service at the trade fair interop Tokyo 2018 on June 13.

The platform enables users to collect digital stamps by scanning QR codes in designated areas and can be redeemed in shopping and retail stores.

Retailers in turn will be able to gather user data and transactional information to track user behavior for setting sales strategies.

Jihan Wu Of Bitmain Maybe Thinking of An IPO

Jihun Wu the founder of Bitmain, the world;s dominant producer of cryptocurrency mining equipment, is said to be looking beyond cryptocurrency business.

Most of its revenues are coming from mining equipment sales and its crypto mining business which accounts for about 41% of all mining pools (BTC.com and AntPool).

The young executive initiative will eventually lead them on an Initial Public Offering that would help boost Bitmain’s profile as the company branches out into areas such as artificial intelligence, an industry that is fully supported by the Chinese government unlike cryptocurrencies.

Its main competitor Canaan Inc. is said to have already filed for an Hong Kong IPO that could bring in about $1 Billion USD.

To put this into prospective Canaan accounts for almost 15% of all mining equipment while Bitmain accounts for a whopping 75%. A Senior analyst at Bernstein estimate that Bitmain would likely worth about $10 billion.

Largest Mining Facility in The U.S.

A cloud mining service provider based in the U.S., Coinmint is said to be aspiring to build the largest crypto mining facility in the U.S. at Massena, New York.

The company plan to build its cryptocurrency mining facility in an abandoned smelter that has a total area of 1,300 acre and 435-megawatt site.

The site was previously home to Alcoa, the world’s sixth largest aluminum producer.

Coinmint is said to be investing up to $700 million on its initiative and will help create around 150 jobs in the coming months.

CTO of Coinmint Prieur Leary believes that by launching the largest cryptocurrency mining facility in the world in the US makes a bold statement that the West is active in this nascent industry and a driver of growth and innovation in the said space.

Polish Financial Authority Insist Crypto Trading Legal

The Polish Financial Oversight Commission (KNF), the financial watch dog of Poland has reiterated their stance that cryptocurrency trading in the country is completely legal and entrepreneurs are not banned from cryptocurrency trading as there is no regulations prohibiting such activities.

This comes after KNF has admitted of driving a social campaign on how risky crypto investments and Poland’s Central Bank admitting that it has funded a clandestine anti-crypto campaign in youtube worth $27,000.00.

It was revealed that KNF will introduce a regulatory system for Bitcoin (BTC) and other cryptocurrencies o July 13, 2018.
