BTC Banknotes Launched In Switzerland And Singapore

Tangem, a start-up company who has office in Switzerland and Singapore has launched a pilot sale of physical banknotes of BItcoin.

The “Smart Banknotes” are embedded with a microchip developed by Samsung Semiconductor, will have denominations of 0.01 BTC and 0.05 BTC.

There will be an initial batch of 10,000 notes that will be distributed worldwide and will be shipped from Singapore.

The company seeks to improve the simplicity and ease of using crypto and at the same time improve the security and of owning, acquiring and circulating them.

Coinbase Preparing For Massive Increase Of Trading Volume

One of the top cryptocurrency trading companies, Coinbase, has increased its trading capacity by 1000% and it expects to double that capacity in the coming months.

In doing so it has increase the number of full-time engineering stuff as well has made some optimization of the platform’s code.

Coinbase COO, Asiff Hirji said that the ever increasing demand for fully a functional and smooth operating trading platform necessitated the upgrades which will guarantee an almost 100% uptime.

It also sought to improve its capacity in anticipation of institutional money coming in the market soon.

Wikipedia Founder Will Be One Of The Speakers At A Major Blockchain Conference in Europe

Jimmy Wales, the founder of Wikipedia and one of time’s top 100 most influential people, will be one of the keynote speaker in BlockShow Europe.

BlockShow is one of the major Blockchain conferences in Europe and tries to differentiate itself by providing a casual atmosphere to get to know the different Blockchain initiative from Europe and around the Globe.

Addy Creeze, CEO of BlockShow said that the BlockShow is not your typical Blockchain conference he likens it the Cirque du Soliel of the circus.

The event is said to bring in more than 3,000 participants, 150 cryptocurrency initiatives and more than 80 resource persons coming from different industries where Blockchain is used.

Huobi Is Expanding In Canada

The Singapore-based cryptocurrency exchange. Huobi, plans to open shop in Toronto, Canada in its bid to become a worldwide player in the crypto sphere.

Ross Zhang, general manager of Huobi Canada said that Canada is fast becoming one of the leading Blockchain nation and Toronto is emerging as one of the most active Blockchain hub in the country.

According to coinmarketcap.com Huobi is the third largest exchange in the world with a daily volume of about $1.7 billion across 208 markets.

Earlier this year the company revealed that it was opening a branch in San Francisco then register a couple of months later to the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network as a money services business as a precursor to being a crypto-to-crypto trading service in the United States.

Mastercard Recognizes The Influence of Cryptocurrencies

Mastercard has released their 2018 first quarter financial result in May 2 showing that they have profited $1.5 billion and have raised more than $3.6 billion in revenues.

They have attributed some of this success from December and January boom in cryptocurrency.

However, Mastercard CFO Martina Hund-Mejean sees a lower growth in the following months as a result of the reduction of number of people using credit cards in buying cryptocurrencies.

This might be partly due to some restrictions on using credit cards to buy crypto, current market slump and the recent high profile exchange hacking have dampen the interest of consumers buy in into cryptocurrencies.
