XRP Official Cryptocurrency Of Tokyo 2020?

A petition has been made to make XRP the official cryptocurrency of the next Summer Olympics in Tokyo 2020.

The creator of the petition, Ken Takahashi states that this will solve much of the logistical headaches that usually comes with large international events.

He said that as tourists stream into the Japan, demand of the local currency skyrockets causing long line at currency exchanges as seen in past Olympics.

This causes confusing exchange rates and a language barrier complicates problems.

The signature campaign started 10 months ago but has recently gained traction with the recent launch of MoneyTap built by Ripple and SBI holdings.

Presently, the petition has already gained about 8,200 signatures and has no signs of slowing down.

If the petition succeeds it would be a major win for the third-ranked cryptocurrency and could result to unprecedented levels of liquidity for XRP due to the sheer number of microtransactions.
