WHO IS SATOSHI NAKAMATO?

The ‘creator’ of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto, still is a secret for the world. He can be a man or probably a group of people around the world. In November 2008, Satoshi Nakamoto published his now famous White Paper, which laid the groundwork for the Bitcoin protocol.

Satoshi worked heavily with the Bitcoin community to modify the underlying bitcoin protocol. In the Spring of 2011, Nakamoto left a final message, declaring that he had “moved on to other things,” and that Bitcoin was “in good hands with Gavin [Andresen] and everyone.” That was the last the worlds of Nakamoto. However, the mystery behind Nakamoto has grown with lots of speculations.

People started to investigate his/her background. Nakamoto’s use of English in his posts make people think that he/she is a British. “Furthermore, his occasional use of British English in the code and comments has fueled speculation that he is a native English speaker of commonwealth origin.” "Additionally, Stefan Thomas, a Swiss coder and active member in the Bitcoin community, graphed the Nakamoto’s posting times, showing his/her absense between midnight am and 6 am Greenwich Time."

Nick Szabo

Nick Szabo is a decentralized currency enthusiast who published a paper on “bit gold” considered to be Nakamoto. However, he refused it.

Dorian Prentice Satoshi Nakamoto

"Satoshi Nakamoto (birth name) is a Japanese American man living in California. Leah McGrath Goodman pointed to Nakamoto’s training as a physicist at Cal Poly University in Pomona. Her biggest evidence was Nakamoto’s response to a question regarding Bitcoin: “I am no longer involved in that and I cannot discuss it. It’s been turned over to other people. They are in charge of it now. I no longer have any connection.” However, in a later interview, he told that he had misunderstood the reporter’s question, he said he understood that the question was related to his previous classified work as a military contractor."

Hal Finney

Hal Finney is another person that is claimed to be Satoshi Nakamoto. Finney was a pre-bitcoin cryptographic pioneer and was the only second programmer to make use of the software, file bug reports, and suggest improvements. Moreover, he was the first person that receive Bitcoin.

Craig Wright

Craig Wright is another possible candidate to be Satoshi Nakamoto. He is an Australian academic, computer engineering expert, and entrepreneur.

We possibly can not know who he/she is. His or her complete silence since the Spring of 2011 proves it. All we know is, he/she had a large amount of Bitcoin in his wallet (probably worth more than $12 billion).
