Banks might have forced WeChat to ban crypto trades

If you have a WeChat account and you deal in crypto for whatever reason, your account will get terminated if the company finds out about it. Considering it's the most used app for paying for services in person (i.e. when going to restaurants), this is a pretty big deal in China, where the app is most widely used.

Because this was a very profitable tool, it is speculated this policy was forced upon by banks, which have been increasingly scared of not controlling people's money anymore. In my own country, many people are getting their bank accounts terminated without prior warning exclusively because they run businesses related to cryptocurrency.

This is an alarming attempt to shut down or at least stall cypto trading. Even if it is dangerous to us now, the explicit fear these seemingly all-powerful corporations is also very encouraging to us who desire greater freedom. As Binance's CEO has already said about this:
