Word to the Wise

Today on Word To The Wise, we take a look at a new cloud mining site called Hashtorin.

Hashtorin is offering 100Gh/s of free hash power to new subscribers and promises up to 12% daily return on your investment.

Unfortunately, Hashtorin does not have much of a track record on which to judge them since they have only been online for two days.

So before I jump in and make a mining investment in an unproven company, I thought it would be a good idea to look into them a little more. The first thing I checked was their management team.

The CEO and Founder, Harry Stevens seems to be a knowledgeable fellow with lots of experience in a variety of industries. For example, he is an insurance agent in New York.

He has human resources and Staffing experience.

He has also been an automobile salesman for a German auto company.

And as if that is not enough, to further his international credentials, he also works for a Brazilian logistics company. Boy, when does this man ever sleep?

So obviously the company is run by a mega over achiever and that should be enough to inspire confidence in most people. But just to be on the safe side, I decided to play it safe and checked into another management team member, David Rick, the Financial Advisor. He also has a commanding presence on the internet, appearing on many different companies websites.

Including Shutterstock, where he is a stock image...?

Oh, wait a minute. That means he is just a ... then the CEO isn't really a mega overachiever, but is also just a ... Oh dear, it seems I was almost fooled. These are not members of a real management team. They are just models whose pictures were stolen from the internet. Then that means Hashtorin is really just a SCAM! I'm sure glad I checked them out before I sent them any money.

Be safe. Don't fall for these fly by night scams that promise you so much to trick you into sending them your Bitcoin. Only invest in reputable companies that offer realistic returns.

The Report

The cryptocurrency market has remained fairly stable the last few days. Currently the broad market is worth $267 Billion, down only 0.3% in the last 3 days. Here's a closer look at how our favorite coins are performing.

Currently Bitcoin is trading at $6611, down 1.2% since this time yesterday morning.

Currently Steem is trading at $1.58, down 0.3% in the last 24 hours while SBD is trading at $1.30, up 1.9% since this time yesterday.

On the Steemit Market, the price of Steem has been falling as SBD moves up. Currently, Steem is trading for 1.242 SBD.

The supply of liquid Steem continued to increase this past week. The liquid supple edged up by about 240,000 in the last three days and is currently at 78.5 million Steem.
