QuarkChain to Roll Out Fastest Blockchain

When the folks at QuarkChain kick off their crowd sale shortly they will also be launching the fastest blockchain yet to be engineered. The 2,000 transactions per second purportedly running on the QuarkChain closed testnet obliterate Bitcoin's four and Ethereum's fifteen transactions per second. But consider the following facts: (1) on PayPal's annual day of heaviest volume, Cyber Monday, it only needs to process about 450 to 500 TPS; (2) transaction behemoth Visa only processes about 1,700 TPS on a typical day. What we appear to finally have here in QuarkChain is serious decentralized competition for the centralized payment systems. Now that's exciting!

QuarkChain utilizes a two-layer transaction system in order to achieve these impressive numbers. Like shards of glass, the sharding layer fragments transactional activity across groups of processors, thus, preventing bottlenecks. The root layer then confirms the micro-blocks generated by the sharding layer. No side chains. Nothing performed off-chain. Just one highly innovative blockchain with enormous scaling potential.

But there's more. . .

By design, clusters of nodes will be summoned for mining QuarkChain tokens (QKC), thus, allowing for super nodes without the need for super computers. This means that the average cryptocurrency enthusiast with a relatively inexpensive GPU will be able to mine QuarkChain tokens without needing to join a mining pool.

Tokens sold during the crowd sale (and later on exchanges) will be ERC20 tokens. Later, during Q4 of this year, these placeholder tokens will be convertible to actual QKC tokens, at which time the main net is to be released.
