Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

Hi! I'm Andrew and I’m currently based in the sunny tropical island city of Singapore. It is pretty much the financial hub of the region. Here we see a lot of ICO and blockchain innovation activity and that's because of the principal-based regulation which promotes innovation, foster trust and transparency and seeks to protect all stakeholders involved.

I’m currently employed in a Fortune 500 Company in a Business Development role. Being an engineer by trade and involved in the IT and Communications industry for almost a decade, I find what I do very relatable to the development in blockchain technology. While there is a lot of development and hype around cryptocurrencies in general, they are mostly seen as an investment moat. It would be most interesting and a good challenge for me develop this market and encourage user adoption in this area. I am also quite financially savvy. Hence the drive by local regulators towards the development of FinTech is an area which really intrigues me.

Interesting fact about me is that I used to be an aspiring young chess player. Hence, I am very intrigued with strategy as well as partnership, alliance forming and business development.

I also watch Soccer (Football) as much as my misses allows me too. Disclaimer: I am not supporting the team of the jersey I’m wearing in the photo. I only use it as my preferred photo to spite my misses for buying the wrong jersey for me!

What is your screen name, avatar and how did you get them?

Being online for many years, I have multiple screen names. The one I’m using most in the blockchain space is "yeesypeasy".

How did I come up with it?

I guess in the crypto world, everyone wants either their first name or last name to be crypto. We have CryptoCat, CryptoLove, KingCrypto or CryptoNite. I think that a huge reason for this is for marketing purposes. However, I wanted something different and something which rhymes that would be remembered with relative ease. That being said: I also seek to bridge the knowledge gap between the fast and complicated crypto world with the general public making it easily understandable and implementable. Hence: "Easy" and "Piece of Cake".

When and why did you get into cryptocurrency?

I had first heard about Bitcoin somewhere in 2011 or 2012 when Bitcoin initially surged to 1000 USD and it was something that was reported on the mainstream radio. Bitcoin popularity waned soon after that, however it stuck with me not because of the decentralization aspect or the benefits of the ability to make payments within a trust-less environment. But it was a revelation to me in terms of what I considered as money. This is something which a huge portion of the public still struggles culturally with to get into adopting cryptocurrency. With this revelation, I invested into virtual world items and profited out of it during the early 2010s. It was how I tested the water of relying on an in-game currency and benefiting from it. More details can be found on my first Steemit post by clicking here.

The hacking of Mt. Gox also halted my adventure into cryptocurrencies. There was really no proper gateway between FIAT and Crypto. It was only in early 2016 when I bought my first Bitcoin and the rest is history. I started getting into blockchain technology as I believe it is the next big thing after the internet. We always need to ride the wave on the crest instead of being in the trough.

If I’m not mistaken you haven’t been a PIVian for long, is that correct?

Correct.

The PIVX project has always been on my watchlist since the rebranding. I bought a small portion of PIVX for my portfolio in December 2017. However, it was only in April 2018 when I started getting more into PIVX and the PIVX Community. The community has been very welcoming and helpful to some of the orientation related questions that I had asked. Giving back to the PIVX Community was only a natural thing to do.

Soon after joining our community you wrote a very nice article about PIVX (thank you for that!). Could we perhaps expect more soon? 😊

Perhaps.

I used to have a habit of producing written content for ICO projects for marketing bounties. I also provided consultation services to one of those projects in the area of Product Marketing and they have advanced leaps and bounds since then. One unique aspect of my ICO reviews is Tokenomics in which I love to analyze the utility of utility tokens and how the value of the tokens is generated through the increased utility of the tokens while it cycles through the different stakeholders in the ecosystem. This content was written and targeted for potential investors.

PIVX, beyond the focus on privacy, is seen as a spendable store of value. My interest for PIVX is more into market development/user adoption. Writing an article is but one way of engaging the target audience which would consist of PIVX users and/or merchants who may not be all very tech-minded, crypto-minded or even financially savvy! My articles will often address the hurdles to adoption from the audience point of view and speaking their terminology and language. It will not always contain the latest and the most profound technical explanation because it will not be the main intent of the articles. I intend to supplement this form of delivery with meetups as well as battlecards (in terms of slides or nice graphics) and media and enterprise engagements when the opportunity presents itself. At the end of the day, it’s about reducing the barriers of entry for public usage by bridging knowledge or implementation gaps.

What is your favorite thing about PIVX?

I like the PIVX Governance model setup which is led as a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO). The positive part is that it is model which allows newcomers like myself to contribute straight away after identifying the key areas that require skills or time contribution.

One thing about a DAO setup is that balance is key. While a portion of project development funds will be generated with generation of each block, it will be the ultimate responsibility of the masternode owners to vote on this balance. PIVX goes one step further into decentralization by passing a proposal recently to enable voting for all PIVX holders. This voting model is still being assessed into providing the most optimal solution for the PIVX Community and I think this is a great next step.

As you know we have recently released zPoS which enables PIVX users to stake privately. What do you think about this feature and are you using this feature already?

I personally think this is a fantastic decision by the PIVX DAO.

PIVX investors are not only able to conceal and send their coins using a much faster and private transaction using the PIVX blockchain with the Zerocoin protocol, they are also able to stake anonymously with zPoS! More information on zPoS can be found here.

This increased incentive to stake with zPIV has increased the user adoption tremendously as witnessed by the scale of zPIV minting in only the first week! At this moment, zPIV supply consist of 13% of the entire PIVX coin supply.

I have only recently started staking PIV and I am quite happy with my 2 staking rewards that I received within a week of staking. Within zPoS activation, I saw to minting my zPIVs in 1k denomination straight away and I look towards getting my first zPoS staking rewards with great interest.

What is your favorite color?

I don’t have one favorite color, for me it’s about the combination of colors providing a theme and setting. I have always had a taste for tertiary colors. You may want to read up more on it by clicking here. Turquoise and Azure are among my favorite colors and the violet-ish colors of PIVX fit into this category really well.

Do you have a crypto dream?

In the blockchain space, I am both an entrepreneur and an investor.

While I do have the noblest intention to push for adoption of public or private Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) in general, a little financial incentive will not hurt.

Blockchain is still going through its early days and there are lots of possibilities being thrown around just like when how the internet began. It is always important to stay grounded.

Last question: Do you have a prediction for PIVX at the end of this year and can you elaborate on that?

In terms of price don’t really have a target for PIVX for the end of this year. I am not usually in favor of creating market expectations. And this is a trait which really resonates within the PIVX community.

The PIVX Developers and community always believe in over-delivering on top of the promises. Not the other way around.

I know typical investors will go by market cap sizing in comparison with other competitors in the market. But we all know that cryptocurrency has the ability to surpass even our wildest dreams which it has proven to us many times over in 2017.

In investment, there is always the classic argument between the Growth Investor and Value Investor. While I am often a Growth Investor for equities, I would find myself a Value Investor for Cryptocurrency. And I do believe PIVX's potential is grossly undervalued by the market at the moment.
