🗞 The Daily: 13% of Shoppers Would Buy Amazon Crypto, Wirex Adds Stablecoin

In Thursday’s edition of The Daily we feature a recent survey that shows 13 percent of shoppers would be happy to buy cryptocurrencies under the Amazon brand. We also cover a new stablecoin integration by crypto card provider Wirex and a token promoted on Coinbase Earn.

Online commerce giant Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN) has one of the strongest brands in the world. What started out as just an online bookstore has become almost a force of nature, taking over entire industries. The company also enjoys a great deal of trust with consumers, especially in the U.S. market where some people allow Amazon to unlock their front doors to make in-home delivery (Amazon Key), install its AI-powered listening devices (Alexa) and even to run the cloud computing systems of the CIA.

🗞 Public Transportation Across Argentina Can Now Be Paid With BTC

The national contactless smart card that is used to pay for public transportation throughout Argentina can now be loaded with BTC. These cards are valid for rides on buses, trains, subways, and motorboats in 37 cities, including the capital city of Buenos Aires, according to the Argentine government’s website.

Users of rechargeable contactless smart card Sube (Sistema Único de Boleto Electrónico) can start funding it with BTC for use in 37 cities in Argentina starting on Thursday, according to local news outlet cripto247.

🗞 Winklevoss Twins to Pay Out $45,000 in Legal Fees to Charlie Shrem After New Ruling

Bitcoin (BTC) entrepreneur and advocate Charlie Shrem will receive around $45,000 in legal costs from Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss as part of an ongoing lawsuit, according to an official document filed on Feb. 7.

The latest step in the lengthy legal proceedings between the former business partners, a judge at the District Court of the Southern District of New York ruled in favor of Shrem for a second time in the last three months.

🗞 The Collapse of QuadrigaCX: What We Know (And What We Don’t)

QuadrigaCX, the Canadian cryptocurrency exchange, made headlines the world over last week when it announced it was filing for creditor protection and owed upwards of $130 million or more to its customers.

The long-suffering exchange has had banking issues for more than a year, and customers complained they could not easily withdraw fiat or crypto over the past several months. Fears that the exchange may be insolvent or running a scam were exacerbated by an announcement that its founder and CEO, Gerald Cotten, died of Crohn’s disease while in India.

🗞 Abra Adds Stocks and ETF Investing to Its Cryptocurrency Exchange App

Abra has decided to add access to collateralized equities investing. This means that users of the exchange and wallet app in 155 countries will be able to trade on popular U.S. stocks and commodities like gold and even use cryptocurrency to do so.

Abra, a cryptocurrency wallet app and exchange with native support for bitcoin cash, has announced that is set to offer its global users the opportunity to invest in stocks, commodities and ETFs, all within the app. The service is going to start with popular U.S. stocks and ETFs and the company also promises to add more global assets in the coming months.

No big move on the STEEM today and it is even a good news because it shows that the sellers don't have enough power to continue the current drop at short term. We should see at least a little break out soon in the Up direction. Let's see if that move will be enough to try to go test the resistance line at 0.31$ or if it will be only a technical UP. Only the market will say it to us, let's see.
