Father Cortazar was a popular Mexican musician, who since childhood managed to ignite Ernesto's interest in music.

But as it often happens, talented people have a difficult fate, and at the age of 13 the boy became an orphan, having lost his parents as a result of the accident. Playing in the restaurants of the city, to somehow feed, by the age of 17, Cortazar began to write soundtracks for movies, and later piano plays.

Having vividly started his musical career in cinema, he moved to Los Angeles, traveled a lot, performed concerts in various parts of the world, including the Soviet Union.

And after the concerts the Maestro liked to give his grateful listeners the notes of the works he performed.

The last years of his life Cortazar spent in Tampico, the home of his father. And although this extraordinary composer is no longer with us today, the melodies created by him still live.
