Exciting Georgian folklore: "Orera" and "Mandili"

In the world, there are few countries with such an original culture as Georgia, and national music has many admirers not only in Russia but throughout the world. Even UNESCO recognized Georgian songs as a masterpiece of oral and intangible heritage! The famous polyphony and Caucasian melodies can not but worry, and although before the songs were mostly performed by men, in our time the situation is changing dramatically :-)

Surely some of you remember the incendiary melodies performed by Georgian guys of the popular ensemble "Orera". Young men from Georgia conquered many in the former Soviet Union. They sang and danced in such a way that their feet danced themselves from the incendiary Caucasian temperament.

The name of the band is just an idiom, a kind of original chorus of Georgian songs, through which the performers Express all sorts of feelings: sadness and joy, joy and grief. The band was formed back in 1961, and led them to the honored artist Robert Bardzimashvili.

Initially, the group consisted of Zurab Yashvili and Teimuraz Davitaia, and later they were joined by Vakhtang Kikabidze. At first the vocal and instrumental Quartet sang for students of the faculty of foreign languages of the Tbilisi pedagogical Institute, where musicians studied.

Already in those years the band has enjoyed increased attention among the public. The ensemble often performs on TV and at concerts, however, few then imagined that he would become so famous.

Then he was joined by Teimuraz megvinetukhutsesi and Geno Nadirashvili. Later Alexander Mandzhgaladze came. And in 1964 Nani Bregvadze — then still the young singer, but already the winner of the world festival of youth began to act with them also.

When you listen to their singing and beautiful melodies, it seems that the music fills the heart, and you are no longer a listener, but a participant of a wonderful celebration. Many of you have heard the songs performed by this team more than once: "where can I get such a song" (words by Margarita Agashina), "I do not regret, do not call, do not cry" (Sergey Yesenin), "I am drunk with love" (M. Zhur-A. Borli).

To this band on our stage, few people working in the genre of the synthesis of folk music and modern pop songs. In those years, these guys were pioneers.

Although, today, no longer walk the streets of Tbilisi, the legendary wit, and you never see a troubadour, singing to girls serenade, listening to some songs of this band, I remembered and Alpine motifs with yodel :-)

The repertoire of the ensemble included ancient Georgian songs and music of other peoples, which they brought from numerous foreign trips and, of course, the works of the world stage.

Since that time, this team has visited many countries of the world and their performances were welcomed everywhere enthusiastically. After all, these guys didn't just sing, they presented each song as a little musical performance, displayed with virtuosity and Georgian charm.

Watched the performance of this glorious band recently, artists, of course, have changed a little, but they still enjoy the attention of the audience.

Live ensemble and it pleases. And recently the artists celebrated their 55th anniversary, however, today it is a Quartet consisting of honored artists of Georgia: Geno Nadirashvili, Teimuraz Davitaia, Tengiz Zhvaniya and Nugzar Kvashali.

Talking about national music, we should not forget about such an important phenomenon in the life of society as the continuity of generations. Due to this and the skins ruined past, preserved cultural identity is supported identity of all nationalities.

I propose to pay attention to the modern Georgian team, which, although it appeared on the stage relatively recently, but has already gained amazing popularity.

The history of creation of this trio is also interesting. The girls just walked on the road and filmed everything on the phone, sang a light Georgian folk song Apareka, then, for fun, Tatia posted this video on the Internet, and two days later friends saw that the video was watched by hundreds of thousands of users, and every day the views became more and more.

These girls did not think that they will become so famous, they just love to sing and often shoot on the phone their performances. Their creative team is now known to millions of fans around the world as the" Trio Mandili " (mandili, a female shawl, which is worn in the highlands of Georgia).

The popular trio includes: Anna Complex, Tatia Mgeladze, Shorena Ciccarelli. Girls sing songs about love and devotion, loyalty to traditions of the people, friendship and history of the small mountain country.

You will also listen to the game on panduri, a three-stringed plucked instrument (such as lute), as well as get acquainted with the ancient custom common among the Khevsurs and pshavs.
