POETS UNITED: DAILY DOSE OF POETRY AND PROSE #93 (@trumanity)
This is the PoetsUnited DailyDose #93
3rd place
Good vs Evil by @elisnext2you is packed with guidance about the choices we are faced with in life, and how to make the right ones. I could tell that the El who hails from Manila, Philippines, put a lot of effort into bringing these lines into a tight form. The poem does it's job and I can imagine many a pastor referring to this poem to guide his students in the Faith. I am touched by the lines, and regardless of your faith, I am sure you will be too. You will be blessed, El - I sense a strong force is always next to you.
## 2nd Place [Beyond your Face](https://steemit.com/poetry/@omedina88/beyond-your-face) by @omedina88 of Venezuala is a short poem that had me reaching a new interpretation each time I read it. Punchy lines that are filled with light, blazing celestial movement and immense distance. I want to assume that perhaps the beautiful subject of the speaker's words, is no longer attainable. The poem is both beautiful, yet left me feeling sad. ## 1st Place [Romantic Slave](https://steemit.com/poetry/@tcpaikano/poem-romantic-slave) by Leonardo Blanco @tcpaikano submitted a poem which is an outpouring of intense emotions concerning love. His stark lines equate love with surrender and submission to a captor. Don't you enjoy a poem that gets mixed thoughts flowing with each line? Blanco managed to have me imagine myself stepping into the wild metaphors conjured up by the speakers words. Highly descriptive words that summon different elements of body and land, water and stars, ending in a wild abandon and an almost mad wish to escape from time itself.Other submissions for the Daily Dose are all special poems in their own right.
@shawnsporter hails from Seattle in Washington State, USA - shared the poem Pictures From a Summer Day This had me reminiscing about years gone by, to hot summer days beside a pool or on a beach with family.
the dream was submitted from Algeria by @nationall. The poem is all about that populare topic, love. This is a really interesting poem.
Long and Narrow Road of Life and Hold on to your Dream are two poems submitted by @vegaron The first poem has the speaker in a weary state of mind, with a heavy load of work. The verses beckon for a brighter tomorrow. Ironically, the next poem is a lot more positive. I guess these two poems belong together. I enjoyed reading them.
Distant Owl Calling by @crescendoofpeace is in the haiku tradition, calling up the image and sounds of a night scene. This is a difficult form to adhere to and I think this example is a clever poem, leaving a lasting impression on the reader.
From the readers and all PoetsUnited community members,
may I say thank you to everyone who participated.
