This Week in the Sndbox

Welcome to the 63rd State of the Sndbox newsletter! This past week, we showcased CC, our very own Blockchain Robot. We wrapped up our media partnerships with Mondo.NYC and the NYC ArtTech + Blockchain Connect conference. We also shared the results from our #dappexplorer series and opened up the next #cryptocollab series. STEEM rallied on Netcoins, and the Crypto Connect the Dots Challenge was launched!

Mondo.NYC Media Partnership

The Mondo.NYC 3 day conference and music festival that engaged newcomers to the blockchain space from the music industry. Highlights from the event were talks revolving around the Steem blockchain and a Steem workshop with Steemit Inc.'s @andrarchy about how artists can leverage the Steem ecosystem to empower their content.

The workshop presentation showcased how Steemit has helped launch many projects, one of which is Steem Park, a design-build project that was funded entirely through Steem. Another is The Creative Crypto magazine that empowers creatives to learn more about cryptocurrency. Brainstorming Community Building on the Blockchain

The #dappexplorer series culminated as the @sndbox community examined new blockchain platforms and explored the possibilities of their very own decentralized application. Building on that knowledge and momentum, we invite everyone to partake in the Crypto-Collaborations series by initiating a creative collaboration of your own made through 1 or more DApps may it be through an artwork, a community project, or an application. Publish your collaboration using the #cryptocollab tag.

STEEM's Netcoin Rally

Last week we rallied up the hordes to get Steem at the top rank to be one of the cryptocurrencies listed on Canada's Netcoins' virtual ATM software. Accessibility on the Netcoins ATM software enables Steem to join major cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum as well as eases the purchase of Steem, signifying ease of mass adoption.

A Forum for ALL Crypto on the Social Blockchain

Steem is the perfect avenue for other blockchain and DApp communities to broadcast ideas, gather feedback and incentivize growth. It is becoming an empowering forum for the cryptocurrency world where new blockchain users are rewarded for their articles, videos, or tutorials. Forget Twitter, Facebook, or other social media platforms, get rewarded for all your blockchain related content on the Steem social blockchain.

This past week, we were thrilled to be the supporting partner of New Art Academy's NYC ArtTech + Blockchain Connect at NYU. Our very own Michael Lee moderated a panel of crypto collectables and discussed the role and actionability of blockchain as an infrastructure for art creation, curation and collection. We also spoke with event creator Elena Zavelev about the event mission and goals.
