------------------------------------------------May the Poetry Be With You------------------------------------------------

in the streets that we have bought
i have seen you lost in thought
in the plains of grief and naught
i have seen you walking.

To A Bird by @smocaine was discovered because of @katrina-ariel's resteem, and my goodness, is it beautiful. The rhyme scheme is unusual and brilliant, the reference to Icarus.... I cannot stand how pretty this poem is. Read it. Drool as I did.

I can’t turn my head from side to side
Without seeing you in my peripheral vision, baby.
Every single day stays the same like yesterday
In 24 hours nothing has changed, time’s up.

Peripheral Visions by @sgtechservices has a staccato realism and word play that is really interesting, but you don't necessarily catch until the second stanza. I'll be interested to see more from him!

Scottish scientist Robert Ogilvie Crombie feared succumbing to habit and walking through life in a trance, so he devised exercises for himself which forced him to do things in an un-habitual way throughout the day like performing all tasks with a different hand.

Don't Blink by @caitlinjohnstone is a fascinating piece of prose that almost reads like poetry. It explores some serious issues and makes some interesting statements- you will not regret reading it.

The first thing she noticed were the dead flowers. Scattered across the fields of Olympus, fallen, but there. Millions and millions of dead flowers stooped, adorning the entryway to the city, as if no one had been able to come take them away, to pick them out and clean the field. Probably because the people inside the city knew that nothing else would grow there. So, dead flowers was all they had now.

Cara #6 by @honeydue is a great piece of her writing- I love the twist and turns of it. Read the whole thing if you have time, but #6 stands on its own as well.

It’s sweet of you
To ask how I feel,
But I don’t think you
Really want to know.
This weight isn’t yours.
You probably have
Enough heavy
Of your own.

Whirlpool by @katrina-ariel is another piece of free verse poetry that is such an exemplar of her style- like having a conversation with yourself.
