With a Siargao land tour in plan for the day, we woke up as early as 5am.
First to watch the beautiful first light of the day.

This view is worth passing on the early morning sleep.

As expected for Siargao, we spent the next 2 hours exploring the waves and afterwards had a hearty breakfast in preparation for the long drive.

With 6 of us , it only seemed logical to rent a family van for the day versus the motorbikes .

We started off around 10am, making few stops at all the scenic places.

We finally made it to the Magpupungko rock and tidal pools & beach in Pilar.

The Tidal pools are exactly what you can describe as Bathtubs curved by nature.
They are shallow pools of sea water that form at the shore, most of which exist as separate bodies of water only at low tide.

Before we went in, we could not resist trying out some snacks from the little food stalls by the entrance. There were some restaurants too but we had plans to have lunch else where so snacking was just right.

I have never tasted sweeter coconut water..

This was an interesting snack. The yellow stuff is made out of cassava flour , but the highlight of this was the syrup sprinked ontop which was made out of coconut and sugar.. The combination of the two was soo good, a match made in heaven.

This was fish balls, dipped in some kind of sauce.

Trailing to the Tidals pools and the Rock was some sort of ancient scenery that let to beautiful surprise.

Through this little cave, brings you to a breath taking view.

First peep at the pools and i could not wait to see more.

The scenery kept opening up to more eye catching surprises , as more pools revealed them selves and the Magpupunko rocks by the far end.
image

Thankfully the weather was just right, we did not think twice to skinny dip, like everyone else.

Adding to this beauty, and making the beach feel come alive was the sound of the Waves crushing

We spent about an hour or so pool hopping and just immersing in this beauty and blessings of nature.

Note: Authorities do not allow access to the beach area when the tide is high.

What to prepare for as you visit The Magpupungko Rocks and Tidal pools. (Guide)

  • 50 pesos to be paid at the entrance.
  • There are restaurants available incase you plan to eat here, there is even beer.
  • Best to visit between 9am -1pm when the tides are low. Like i said earlier, there is no access to the beach during high tides.
*wear high friction sandals, as the rocks are mossy and slippery.

That will be all, for now folks., but on a more important thought, let me just say this.
For such opportunities and priveldges to be able to travel(far or near) and witness this kind of beauty, for these rare and special moments , for provision and for life, i am soo grateful oh Lord. My heart is fukl of gratitude.

Thank you!

May light ,good vibes and great fortune be your portion.

Xoxo
