Do not switch on the phone

Some people have the habit of checking if the phone is still working or not as soon as they take the phone from the pool. If you know for sure that the phone is wet, do not switch it on or try to access it until it is completely dried. Switching it on can create serious damage to the motherboard. Some phones even burst out if the damage is heavy to the board and if you still try to access the phone. 

Do not keep the phone under hot sun

People usually think of drying the phone by keeping under the hot sun. This is again a blunder. Keeping a wet phone under hot sun can create further damage to the phone board. The best way to dry a wet phone is dismantling it and keeping the phone parts inside the rice. In south India, most of the houses will have rice in a drum for sure. When we drop phones inside water by mistake, we dismantle the phone and keep the phone inside the rice drum keeping it covered by rice. We will let it dry in that for a few hours. Rice absorbs the water particles in the phone by creating no damage to the board. 

Approach service center

Usually if the damage is not severe, the phones will easily recover after it is dried. If it is still having issues, it is highly advisable to take the phone to the service centre for fixing it. Some service providers may not provide support if the phone is dropped inside water. Some service centres insist that the board of the phone should be changed. And usually fixing the phone will cost similar to that of buying a new phone.
