River Walk and Rails to Trails RidesteemCreated with Sketch.

I fell asleep when I got home and forgot to post my Actifit steps. Strava was still running at least. We actually only did a small part of the Rails to Trails portion of the ride as I decided to take a shortcut on the streets to get home.

We stopped a few times along the Niagara River on our way out to Tonawanda. I had kind of avoided this route a bit as it was the same route I used to take to work. It's really a lot more fun now that I don't have to do this just to get to a place I didn't enjoy being at. It's actually a pretty awesome loop. It's not so great on windy days, especially along the river. Today we just had a minor headwind on the way out and a tailwind to help us along on the way back.

We stopped at the Isle View Bar & Grill, which has a patio overlooking the river. Its name derives from the park across the street.

This beer is nothing great but it's drinkable and that's too good a deal to pass it up.

Our last stop was at Odie's Tavern, a dirt cheap dive bar in Tonawanda that serves great wings. I really need to stop aving beer and wings on every bike ride. It's kind of a staple of our social rides though. I think we had 40 wings between the 3 of us, as one of our group thought the wings were taking too long and left. Way too many wings, but they were real cheap. Even the pool table was only 50 cents.

This is the longest ride I've done in awhile and it feels great to be out for long rides again. I'm feeling much better now, and the riding makes me feel better in general.
