Session 30 - August 9th
It has been a particularly troubled week as far as training is concerned. Days in which the downpours and the threat of the same led me to stay home. In short, bad weather! Too bad that this water has dimmed the temperatures just a little: a few tens of degrees less would have been a good consideration for the price paid. Incredible, however, this extremely strange and unusual summer: I do not think I've ever seen it so rainy in recent years!
In any case, today the clouds seemed to have forgotten for at least a little of this part of Sardinia. The day seemed perfect for a bike ride, it was not too hot: what to ask for better?
So at 5.30 pm I thought about doing a few miles. The initial idea was to take a difficult route, hard enough, but after 40 minutes the sky was clouded again and in less than no time it started to rain. The fact is that I found myself in the middle of the storm without any chance of repairing me somewhere: a real disaster! Also because the water came down practically to buckets 😡. I tried to hurry up and go to the town where it seemed it was not raining so much and in fact after a few kilometers the rain decreased in intensity. I was already completely soaked: shorts, T-shirt, socks and shoes, everything! But at least the return was more comfortable.
It was for me the first experience under a downpour of this size, however below the report of the day and some photos taken with the smartphone.

Finora è stata una settimana particolarmente travagliata per quanto riguarda gli allenamenti. Giornate in cui gli acquazzoni e la minaccia degli stessi mi hanno indotto a rimanere a casa. Insomma brutto tempo! Peccato però che quest'acqua ha affievolito le temperature solo un poco: qualche decina di gradi in meno sarebbe stato un buon corrispettivo per il prezzo pagato. Incredibile comunque quest'estate estremamente strana e particolare: non credo di averne mai visto una così piovosa!
In ogni caso quest'oggi i nuvoloni sembravano essersi dimenticati almeno per un poco di questo angolo di Sardegna. La giornata sembrava perfetta per un'escursione in bici, non c'era troppo caldo: cosa chiedere di meglio?
Così verso le 17.30 ho pensato di fare qualche chilometro. L'idea iniziale era quella di fare un bel giro sostanzioso, abbastanza duro, ma dopo 40 minuti il cielo si è nuovamente rannuvolato e in men che non si dica ha iniziato a piovere. Fatto sta che mi sono ritrovato in mezzo al nubifragio senza alcuna possibilità di ripararmi da qualche parte: un vero disastro! Anche perché l'acqua veniva giù praticamente a secchiate 😡. Ho cercato di affrettarmi e andare verso il paese dove sembrava non stesse piovendo così tanto e infatti dopo qualche chilometro la pioggia ha diminuito in intensità. Ero già completamente zuppo: pantaloncini, maglietta, calze e scarpe, tutto! Ma almeno il rientro è stato più confortevole.
E' stata per me la prima esperienza sotto un acquazzone di queste dimensioni, comunque di seguito il resoconto della giornata e qualche foto scattata con lo smartphone.
