Dear @Dtube #61 // planning for the next sixty days — how we use steem accounts for saving up!

Today I just wanted to share with you a little bit of an idea that me and dayleeo threw together to help us save — no matter the distance, transaction fees, bankings or any of that. We made some separate steem accounts and gave them easy to remember and thoughtful names.

@upgrades — for our tech/hardware needs
@transition - for flights back and forth between uk/us
@paperwork - for sorting out visas and similar documents required
@pullalong - because we want a ‘get outta dodge’ thing to sleep in.

We looked and looked for different ways to save together and found no application out there that made it as simple as blockchain technology — the best thing about the steem blockchain is that everything happens in seconds and zero transaction fees — we can move steem or steem backed dollars around with ease, between accounts and even ‘drip feed’ little bits of earnings for big posts that have been received well and let them sit in savings until we need them.

Of course it’s volatile, it’s not the same thinking as usual savings you have for a fiat currency in that if you move $100 today you will have $100 tomorrow, as you know it’s ever changing and like happened a few months back can crash — we kinda have a short window on it for about three months now on the @upgrades one but the others we can sit on them until whenever the timing is right tbh, remember it’s time we earned of our ‘proof of brain’ — algorithm based time payments that we have been doing all our life but was never tracked on a blockchain before.

I hope this video helped a little bit understand how we go about making incremental changes to our kit, setup and general life direction by just drip feeding each week and how saving together inspires us to work together on a shared goal — all being well we should be able to setup a similar greenscreen studio with good lighting and good audio for @dayleeo in the next month and that will make it easier for me too that I can continue to record my daily videos when I head over there for a few weeks too.
