DISCUSSION TOPIC:
Christ's Atonement Is For All
BIBLE READING:
Leviticus 14:21-32
Qs. 1, 7. See Questions HERE.
DISCUSSION:
Observe that anyone who was isolated because of an infectious disease, whether poor it rich, must perform the cleansing ritual before he/she can be restored to fellowship. Although, God is merciful, he will not excuse anyone from his righteous requirements (Romans 6:26).
However, God also made gracious provision to accommodate everyone, even the very poor (vs. 21-22). He does not want anyone to be isolated from fellowship with him perpetually. He has no pleasure on the death of a sinner. And he does not want the rich to monopolise his blessings. What do you think the Church would be like was salvation to be based on how much people can pay?
Read vs. 30-31 again. What gracious provision of God can you observe? Just with whatever he can afford, the poor obtains atonement as does the rich. This shows that all souls are equal before God. We have sinned and needs God's forgiveness, whether poor or rich. Christ's atonement by his death on the cross is for everyone and it is freely available to whoever comes to him (Romans 3:21-23; John 3:16).
What next?
Think of some practical ways by which you can help those around you (rich and poor alike) to access the free salvation that is available in Christ?
Prayer:
Ask God to give you grace to take practical steps to share the gospel of salvation in Christ to all around you.
REMAIN BLESSED!
