The Litecoin halving has officially happened!
The fourth largest cryptocurrency by market cap, LTC has officially cut block rewards for miners in half. This is an event that was "pre-programmed" in the blockchain to happen at the block height of 1,680,000.
This halving brought the mining rewards down from 25 to 12.5 LTC per block. Roughly 576 blocks are produced every 24 hours on the LTC blockchain which means that the total daily creation of new LTC has dropped from 14,400 LTC to 7,200 LTC.
This event has been highly anticipated by the entire crypto community. It's no BTC halving, but still.. a major event nonetheless.
At the time this article was published, LTC is currently hovering right at $100 and is up 7.54% on the day.

LTC was my second love after BTC. It's so lovely to see the continue to develop amd grow. The halfenong only really affects miners and was accounted for already.
