cXc Music App Update: Inclusiveness, Curation System, and More
Hello Evolutionaries!!
I wanted to give everybody an update on the progress of cXc Music, and the project as a whole.
The only update that is live is a new “Learn More” menu, which you can check out on the site: music.cxc.world and an updated charts icon (instead of the word charts)
Oh yeah, and I got around to better defining the Guardian system, which there is a link to in the new menu on music.cxc.world
But there is a TON of stuff we are working on, and here’s some of that stuff:
We are currently looking at a few fundamental changes to the system, as well as implementing the curation system as soon as we can.
Here are the fundamental changes that we are considering.
Allowing registered (but not verified) users to vote.
Allowing users that haven't been verified through our verification system to vote challenges the integrity of the system. We can't allow them to vote in a meaningful way, or it would be very easy to game the system, as well as to earn currency unfairly.
However, we do want them to experience the voting system (why else would they want to become verified in the first place?)
We have decided to allow users that are registered, (with a Steemit account), but have not gone to the verification process to vote, though their votes will not be counted until they become verified.
We are also considering doing the same thing with FB and other users, though they would then have to get a Steemit account and then verify that Steemit account to have votes count.
How this will work
Basically, I made new tables in the DB for non-verified users votes. They will be independent and not counted. When a user is verified, we will move the records to the real table (allowing charts in the past to change). This is weird, and will not affect the awards that people were given in the past (you will get a badge-like-thing for being top-12), but will change if new people look into the past records.
What is verification?
To be verified you must have a Steemit account, and a Guardian must go through and check that you are a real person. To earn the currency from your music you must sign in and link your YouTube, Spotify, and soundcloud account with this email account on cXc Music.
What is a Guardian?
We have recently defined Guardianship in our Purple Paper. There is a link to the info on the new menu, or right here
Programming update
I'm currently writing the code of the curation system, including Sol points/chips, Blue points/chips, time units (Monads) and all that fun stuff.
I'm going to continue to code in this direction every day, and we will release as soon as we are done. Of course, we are still waiting for SMT so we can integrate them into this voting system, but we can integrate Sol chips and Blue chips with no problem.
We are looking into the geo-location storage so that we can start generating country charts, and state, county, and zip code charts for the USA. It seems 100% doable and we plan to release it around the same time as the voting system, or a little after. Once the time units and the political geographic units are in, things will be looking a lot like the original idea!!!
Also, I plan on fixing the display of the dots very soon so that they get bigger (but not too big) when the “dot style” setting is “by UPs”. Eventually this will be the default display on the site.
Douglas Update
I am in the center of Brazil in a beautiful town called Alto Paraiso de Goias. We are renting a house here for a month, and doing a lot of filming for courses we are releasing. I am still making time everyday to code for cXc Music, but things are slower because I do have to eat (the courses help with this) and cXc doesn’t make money right now and is 100% funded by me.
I feel super blessed to be doing exactly what I want to do. cXc is growing so fast and it will grow so much faster when it's in a state we want to promote it (verified users, curation, ambassadors, events). This feels so good, and this is so much more than music. We look forward to the next cXc Mapp after cXc Music, and for all cXc Music has in store!!
