Worldwide Broadband Speed League 2018!

If you guys have been following me for some time now, you might have already known how 'pricey' internet data is on my country (the Philippines) as I often complain about it on my 'gaming' blog posts (DOTA2/Ragnarok Mobile).

This is of course not a big deal 'if only' the price matches the speed but I'm pretty sure every people living in the Philippines would agree that it does not. If you have played games like DOTA2 or Mobile Legends before, I'm pretty sure you know what I'm talking about as one of the main reason why we lose is either we or one of our teammates is experiencing the most brutal and excruciating thing that could happen to any player: "lag". XD

Anyway today, I stumbled upon one interesting post and one that I think many of you would find interesting, a data collected from June 2017 to May 2018 about the Broadband Speed of some Countries.

Based on the data they collected above, it seems Singapore has the fastest speed in the whole world as it is estimated to download a whole 5 GB file in just 11 minutes and 18 seconds! Holy Macaroni!

If we compare it to the estimated download speed in the US, the same 5 GB file would take 26 minutes and 24 seconds to fully download there. (I could honestly remember the first time I downloaded Steam and DOTA2 which was around 5-8 GB and it took almost 3-4 hours to download the whole thing LOL)

As for my country, we are 89th on the list, with an estimated time to download a whole 5 GB file at 2 hours 11 minutes and 41 seconds. Wow! XD
