Translator Application for The Davinci Project

Hello everyone!

My name is Gabriel Durand, and this is my first time ever writing a post on steemit. And I joined this platform because I learned that there is an opportunity to work on open-source projects related to the translation field.

I am a senior student at STI(School of Translation and Interpretation) part of the University of Ottawa located in the capital of Canada; our work involves translating official documents and legal documents, but during our training we include forms from different kinds, such as birth certificates or technical reports because time is evolving faster and we need to adapt with what the market is in need for.

Normally, we follow a 3-year training where we got exposed to a lot of real-life scenarios. Thus, our skills come together to allow a person to deal with any kind of document. However, I didn’t bring up the subject of ‘Time is evolving faster’ for nothing, cause we can say that the process of translation is now partially automated with the existence of Bots that uses the Artificial intelligence to try and guess the general context of a sentence, the supervision of a well-trained translator is always mandatory, but a big part can be done already.

As undergraduates, we are not allowed to rely solely on those bots, we learn how to use them, yes. during workshops. But the traditional practice is what we are judged for.

My roots came from the city of Montreal, southwest of Quebec, as you may or may not know French is the sole provincial official language. adding to that most of the population here is bilingual due to historical and colonization reasons and as a student at the University of Ottawa, my ability to work on both English and French are prominent.

I have a cousin of mine, that built a career to himself buying stocks and shares, and together we have joined a Mutual fund that comprises mainly of S&P 500 company shares and cryptocurrencies and other financial assets, and that's when I saw that digital assets can really overtake the classical ones and I forced myself to seek the existing opportunities related to the blockchain technology and smart contracts, and now I'm embarking on a new experience, and I quote "the world’s first blockchain platform that rewards open-source contributions" -Coingecko-.

Je m'appelle Gabrielle DURAND et c'est la première fois que j'écris un article sur Steemit. J'ai rejoint cette plate-forme parce que j'ai appris qu'il y a une opportunité de travailler sur des projets open source liés au domaine de la traduction.

Je suis un étudiant senior de la STI (École de traduction et d'interprétation) de l'Université d'Ottawa située dans la capitale du Canada. Notre travail consiste à traduire des documents officiels et des documents juridiques, mais lors de notre formation, nous pratiquons aussi sur des formulaires de différents types, tels que des certificats de naissance ou des rapports techniques, car le temps évolue plus rapidement et nous devons nous adapter aux besoins du marché.

Normalement, nous suivons un cursus de trois années au cours duquel nous serons exposés à de nombreux scénarios réels. Ainsi, nous accumulons des compétences qui vont nous permettre par la suite de traiter tout type de document. Cependant, je n'ai pas évoqué le sujet "Le temps évolue rapidement" par hasard, Parce qu’on peut admettre que le processus de traduction actuellement est partiellement automatisé grâce aux « rebots traducteurs » qui grâce à l'intelligence artificielle peuvent fournir le contexte général d'une phrase dans une autre langue, la supervision d'un traducteur bien formé résidera toujours indispensable, mais une grande partie peut être déjà faite.

En tant qu'étudiant de premier cycle, nous ne sommes pas autorisés à nous fier uniquement à ces robots, cependant nous apprenons à les utiliser, durant les séances des travaux pratiques. Mais c’est à travers la méthode traditionnelle que nous sommes évalués.

Je suis originaire de la ville de Montréal, au sud-ouest du Québec, que vous le sachiez ou non; le français est la langue officielle de la province. En plus de cela, la majeure partie de la population est bilingue en vue des raisons historiques et de colonisation. En tant qu'étudiant à l'Université d'Ottawa, mon habilité à exploiter en Anglais et en Français est rassuré.

Mon cousin s'est construit une carrière en achetant des actions et des bons participatifs. Ensemble, nous avons rejoint un fond commun de placement qui comprend principalement des actions de sociétés S & P 500 ainsi que des crypto-monnaies et autres actifs financier. C’est là où j’ai découvert que le fait de créer des actifs au monde digital peut l’emporter sur l’investissement dans les domaines classiques, je me suis donc forcé à rechercher les opportunités existantes en matière de technologie de la Blockchain et de contrats intelligents, et maintenant je me suis mis dans le bain d’une nouvelle expérience, et je cite "la première plateforme au monde de la Blockchain qui récompense les contributions open source" -Coingecko-.
