Reviewing the Decentralized 2018 iOS app | Part 2

Introduction

Yesterday I started my personal review about the Decentralized 2018 iOS app, and I was able to cover several sections of this application.

Specifically, the first 3 sections, starting with “Activity Streams” where we could see what other users are doing with their accounts and the content they are sharing in their profiles, then there was the “People’s” section, that was basically a very long list of every person that is registered on the app, and with several filters to quickly find individuals through their first/last name and their company’s name, finally there was a short section called “Favorites & Notes” where we could find a list of the people we have added to our favorites list as well as any notes we might have saved.

In this final part of my personal review, I am going to cover all of the remaining sections of the application.

After “Favorites & Notes” the next section that we find in the app is called “About”. This is a particularly important section because in there, we can find all the necessary information about this event in a very concise way:

It has 4 subsections, as we can see in the following image:

The first one provides very basic information about the event, such as its date and location:

In the next 3 subsections, there is information about the institution that is organizing this event, the University of Nicosia, and the reasons why they think it is important to not only learn about blockchain technology, but also to get involved in this type of initiatives and projects.

This university truly believes that blockchain technology has a very bright future, and organizing this event is a way to help with the creation of a vibrant and active blockchain community.

Next we have the “Schedule”, having this information nicely presented on a mobile device is very useful, it is to be expected that most people in the event find it easier to check this type of info through their smartphones, and using an app specifically designed for smaller screens can be of big help when people are in a hurry and want to quickly check which one is the next talk, or how many hours they need to wait until their favorite speaker begins his presentation.

In the following gif I scrolled around to show the different activities that are planned for next Thursday:

Users can set reminders for those talks that are more interesting to them and add them to their favorites list. If you remember from the first part of this review, as an example I had already added 2 people to my favorites list, in the middle of the following image we can see how our favorites list looks when adding an event. Finally, there is also the option to manually enter a topic to see which talks are related to it, I used the topic "artificial intelligence" as an example:

Next up we have the “Speakers”, just as the “People’s” section, in here we can see a list of all the Speakers that are going to be giving talks in this event.

And look who I found on this list! 2 fellow Steemians who are also the founders of @Oracle-D and @promo-steem, Matt Starkey (@starkerz) and Dylan Leighton (@anarcotech)! I was able to find them after manually entering “Oracle-D” in the search bar of the Speakers section.

We can also rate speakers individually, here I am rating Matt with a 5 stars rate!

After I added both of them to my favorites list, this is how it looks, we can see how the list is divided by sections, in the image there are the 2 people, 1 event from the Schedule, and our 2 favorite speakers!:

Next up we have the “Sponsors” list, these are all the entities that have supported the event and provided their help in making this Blockchain Summit a reality:

Just below the “Sponsors” section, we can find the “Exhibitors” list. As was mentioned in the introductory post in this Summit besides speakers, there will also be exhibitors, that are going to showcase their products and services to everyone who attends this event. In the following gif we can see the entire list of exhibitors:

The final section of this application is called “Venue”, it is basically the location where this event is going to be held. I made the following gif to show how we can zoom-in the map:

Having that location available on our mobile devices is extremely important, especially for those cases where people don’t know the city and can easily get lost, but with the location always available on the app, it is very unlikely for people to have problems when finding the site.

This was the second and final part of my personal review of the Decentralized 2018 iOS app, in the first part I covered the first 3 sections of the application, which are “Activity Streams”, “People”, and “Favorites & Notes”. In this article, I covered all of the sections that were remaining.

I really liked the fact that users can set alarms to be reminded about a talk they want to attend, and having both the schedule and the map location in the app is also a great decision that will surely help a lot of people.

Let’s not forget this Blockchain event is going to start in just a few days on November 14, and it is going to last until November 16, so there will surely be a lot of exciting news and announcements coming from there in the following days.
