Democracy In Nigeria.
We were so excited celebrating our democracy
Little did we know our leaders would demonstrate their craze
They have no idea as to the enormous task ahead
All they were concerned with is their own pockets
So many people in power ever since democracy day
Still the same set of people ruling us till date
They change from one arm of government to another
They neglected nation building and they are not bothered either
Is this what democracy is all about?
Was this what we clamoured for back then?
How could this be our reality?
We have totally neglected the blue print
Everyone seem to be following the money print
They have led with terrible examples
Most youth have been wired to get there too and loot
Everyone wants to drive in expensive cars with money in booth
Most citizens seem to be suffering with no band aid to soothe
We don't have leaders, we mostly have looters
Building for the future seem to be relegated
Everyone of them seem to be living for the now
How long are we going to be like this?
When will the true meaning of freedom ever return
When are we going to have our long awaited democracy?
They said we have democracy but we don't
How can we have the voice of a lion and our voice is tamed?
How can we have so much and we lack management?
Democracy is not the problem, but bad leaders.

This plague called corruption in collaboration with bad leadership has eaten deep into the fabrics of our social existence. There is nothing like patriotism anymore in our leadership structure, it is now a game of every man for himself.
We keep recycling same set of leaders with same old ideology and we expect to have a different and better result. This is totally far from reality. It is time for us to rise and fight for a new Nigeria we desire, let us stand up against every form of dictatorship hiding under the umbrella of democracy.
Nigeria is great and will still be greater but there is need to eradicate all the enemies of progress.
