Diastema Closure and Tooth Restoration

Let me share with you guys our two (2) patients today, they have different concerns and complaint but have the same results.

The first patient is concerned about her tooth spacing, as you can see her teeth in the picture above there's a big space in between the tooth. The solution is we performed "Diastema Closure" Diastema means "space", from the word "closure(close)" so we need to close the space.

This is now the final result, from spacing to diastema closure.

How We Perform Diastema Closure?

• First, you have to roughen the surface of the two teeth so that the filling can properly hold.
• Then you have to put etchant in order to rough much the tooth.
• Apply Bonding
• Then put filling, make sure to conture it properly and make sure the filling is not obvious.

The second patient is concerned about her tooth caries in her three front teeth coz it is obvious everytime she talk and smile.

The picture above shows how deep the caries and how big the damage that causes her teeth decayed.
Just like the first patient she also wants to find ways how to bring back her teeth to its original looks.

We restore the teeth of patient no. 2, and this is the final result after tooth restoration.

How To Restore Decayed Tooth?

• First, we have to do a cavity preparation. We have to drill using engine or handpiece to remove the decay or caries.

• Second, when the tooth is clean already and no more caries (the black one), apply etchant/phosphoric acid to roughen the tooth.

• Then apply bonding or adhesives.

• Then put filling and form like a tooth.

Our Teeth is important, so I encourage everyone to visit your dentist regularly or every six months to maintain your teeth healthy.
