For his birthday i decided to not only serve him his first tiramisu, but that I would also show him how to make it.

I was as excited as he was. It has been years since I've had Tiramisu and more than twenty years since I'd made it. The interwebs provided me with an easy recipe and we were on our way.

The hardest part is to not over soak the lady fingers in the coffee. Back in the day when i helped make it for the Plaza Bistro in Whistler, we soaked them in espresso AND brandy. Not this time... He is turning fifteen after all.

The thing we did different was to uae whole unrefined cane sugar instead of white death and so it had a deeper golden hue to it.

We took the birthday boy to the local Nanda Chicken for some yummy KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) and they were gracious enough to let us bring our own dessert. And especially greatfull when we shared some with them!!😋🤣😋😁
