Roots are Bitter, Fruits are Sweet!
I've been making a serious effort to improve at this 1 particular thing.
This is learning.
Learning has become so important in my life. It's a cornerstone to a great day.
The learning time itself however, is another story. Learning can be awkward, uncomfortable, boring and painful.
It can entail sitting for hours upon hours and reading/studying material and researching and experimenting for new ideas.
The roots of education are bitter, but the fruit is sweet. - Aristotle
We've known this for thousands of years:
Educating yourself can be bitter and boring. It can be monotonous and annoying.
It's a habit that is hard to create and harder still to cultivate on an ongoing basis.
But at the end of a day, when I look back on what I had learned, read and accomplished for the day, I can go to sleep proud of my work and my head hits the pillow just fine.
The quality of sleep, quality of mind, quality of life that I get from learning is just far better than anything else!
How will you spend more time learning this coming week?
