Bad Wildbad Teil 1 - Baumwipfelpfad / Bad Wildbad Part 1 - Treetopwalk
Bad Wildbad in the state of Baden-Wuerttemberg in Germany, lays in the northern black forrest and is known to be a spa town. We´ve been there on the weekend and will show you some of the main attractions of this lovely little town.
Since it is only 80km away from Stuttgart, where we live, we just spent one day there. But there is so much to do that you could easily spend a whole week there.
Hiking, mountain biking, historical sightseeing and some wellness, there is something for everyone.
We started the day with the main attraction, the treetopwalk.
Bad Wildbad im Bundesland Baden-Württemberg in Deutschland liegt im nördlichen Schwarzwald und ist bekannt als Kurort. Wir waren am Wochenende dort und werden deuch einige der wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten dieser schönen kleinen Stadt zeigen.
Da es nur 80 km von Stuttgart entfernt ist, haben wir nur einen Tag dort verbracht. Aber es gibt so viel zu tun, dass man leicht eine ganze Woche dort verbringen könnte.
Wandern, Mountainbiken, historische Sehenswürdigkeiten und etwas Wellness, hier ist für jeden etwas dabei.
Wir begannen den Tag mit der Hauptattraktion, dem Baumwipfelpfad.
This treetopwalk in the famous black forest was opened in 2014. With a length of 1250m and a hight upto 20m this is nothing for someone with fear of heights.
You walk along the treetops of beech, fir and spruce trees and have a view down to the valley of Calmbach, a village next to Bad Wildbad.
Dieser Baumwipfelpfad im berühmten Schwarzwald wurde 2014 eröffnet. Mit einer Länge von 1250m und einer Höhe von bis zu 20m ist er nichts für Menschen mit Höhenangst.
Man wandert entlang der Baumkronen von Buchen, Tannen und Fichten und hat einen Blick bis ins Tal von Calmbach, einer Ortschaft direkt neben Bad Wildbad.
It´s the perfect activity for families or school classes, as there is plenty of stuff to do and to learn during the 1.2km walk.
You will learn a lot about the animals and their habitat, but also about the different local tree species and the smells of the forest.
Es ist die perfekte Aktivität für Familien oder Schulklassen, denn es gibt viel zu tun und zu lernen auf dem 1,2 km langen Pfad.
Sie werden viel über die Tiere und ihren Lebensraum erfahren, aber auch über die verschiedenen lokalen Baumarten und die Gerüche des Waldes.

But that´s not all. At the end of the walk there will be a 40m high tower waiting for you, from which you got breathtaking views over the black forest. Before you reach the tower at the end there will be some challenges to accomblish.
Have you ever walked on a balance beam or some shaky elements in 20m height? No? That´s your chance.
But don´t worry, you don´t have to cross them and of course there is always a steel net underneath.
Aber das ist nicht alles. Am Ende der Wanderung erwartet einen ein 40 m hoher Turm, von dem man einen atemberaubenden Blick über den Schwarzwald hat. Bevor man den Turm am Ende erreicht, werden einige Herausforderungen zu bewältigen sein.
Bist du jemals auf einem Schwebebalken oder einigen wackeligen Elementen in 20m Höhe gelaufen? Nein? Das ist deine Chance.
Aber mach dir keine Sorgen, du musst sie nicht überqueren und natürlich gibt es immer ein Stahlnetz darunter.

I´m not really afraid of heights but it is always a strange feeling to walk along the treetop of 20m high trees on a wobbly bridge. But it felt so good to breath that air and have such a beautiful view.
You should really take your time for that walk and enjoy every second and of course keep an eye out for any kind of wildlife like birds or squirrels.
Ich habe keine Höhenangst, aber es ist immer ein komisches Gefühl, auf einer wackeligen Brücke entlang der Baumwipfel von 20m hohen Bäumen zu laufen. Aber es fühlte sich so gut an, diese Luft zu atmen und eine so schöne Aussicht zu haben.
Man sollte sich wirklich Zeit für diesen Spaziergang nehmen und jede Sekunde genießen und natürlich nach Wildtieren wie Vögeln oder Eichhörnchen Ausschau halten.
After approximately 30-45 min walk we reached the tower, the highlight of the treetop walk. The entrance starts at a height of 5m from the treetop walk.
It is important to know that you can only climb the tower if you pay for the whole treetop walk, you can´t buy this separately.
The walk up the tower is quite funny and as soon as you reach the top you will have the most amazing 360 degree view.
Nach ca. 30-45 min Fußweg erreichen wir den Turm, den Höhepunkt des Baumwipfelpfades. Der Eingang beginnt in einer Höhe von 5m vom Baumwipfelpfad.
Es ist wichtig zu wissen, dass man den Turm nur erklimmen kann, wenn man den ganzen Baumwipfelpfad bezahlt, man kann das nicht separat buchen.
Der Aufstieg zum Turm ist ziemlich spaßig und sobald man oben angekommen ist, hat man eine erstaunliche 360-Grad-Aussicht.
