...and there came the flood - The story my contestpic [DE/ENG]

Once apon a time...
So it should be a very ordinary shoot. The location was a small valley island, behind a reservoir. Ok, there was also a sign saying "Warning about the tidal wave! Attention to danger!". We both looked at each other and had to laugh ... what a tidal wave should come there? So we started the shoot.Es war einmal...
Also eigentlich sollte es ein ganz gewöhnliches Shooting werden. Location war eine kleine Talinsel, hinter einem Stausee. Ok, es stand dort auch ein Schild mit der Aufschrift "Warnung vor der Flutwelle! Achtung Lebensgefahr!". Wir schauten uns beide an und mussten kurz lachen... was soll denn da für eine Flutwelle kommen? Also begonnen wir mit dem Shooting.

It always takes a moment for the photographer and the model to harmonize. You know what I mean;) During my shootings I keep making jokes, so that the mood stays good and everyone gets fun. Below is a picture that is lesser a beautiful portrait, but it shows what I mean.Einschießen
Es dauert ja immer einen Moment, bis Fotograf und Modell harmonieren. Ihr wisst was ich meine ;) Ich mache während meinen Shootings auch immer wieder kleine Späße, damit die Stimmung gut bleibt und es Spaß macht. Nachfolgend ein Bild, welches weniger als schönes Portrait durchgeht, aber es zeigt was ich meine.
Now the story starts!
As mentioned above, we were on a small island behind a reservoir. You can guess what happened now. When we had the first 50 pictures in the box, we heard that the water was getting faster. At the same time, the water level rose. Bad combination! Especially when the photo backpack is a few meters away and you can not reach it through the now significantly increased water level. I have to say that this shoot was in March and the water was only a few degrees. But before I buy everything again, I tried somehow to get to the backpack. Unfortunately, there was no dry way to get through. SO! Clothes out to the shorts and through. Because of the cold temperature from the water, I had to get dressed again after taking the backpack to safety. So ... now I am aware that my model was still stuck on the small island. Cleverly, she also had a bag of clothes and another backpack. So I took off my clothes again, packed myself with ALL things and waided again through the water, which went to my waist and was still freezing!? This time I brought the stuff straight to the right bank, put it down and went to the island where my model was waiting to get her dry and safe ashore.I tell you, that was an action! Unfortunately, we did not take any photos during the excitement, but it would have been an image for the gods. You can see in the first picture on the stone (left), how high the water has risen there!
Note: If there's a sign somewhere warning of waves, take it seriously! The current could have also outlined me and if I get a hit at the head, ... it goes very bad! I learned from it!
Jetzt beginnt die Geschichte!
Wie eingangs erwähnt, waren wir auf einer kleinen Insel hinter einem Stausee. Ihr könnt erahnen was nun passiert ist. Als wir die ersten 50 Bilder im Kasten hatten, hörten wir, dass das Wasser schneller wurde. Gleichzeitig stieg der Wasserspiegel an. Schlechte Kombination! Erst recht wenn der Fotorucksack einige Meter entfernt liegt und man ihn dank des jetzt deutlich gestiegenen Wasserstandes nicht mehr erreicht. Ich muss dazu sagen, dass das diese Shooting im März war und das Wasser nur ein paar Grad hatte. Bevor ich mir jetzt aber alles neu kaufe, versuchte ich irgendwie zu dem Rucksack zu kommen. Es gab leider kein trockenes Durchkommen. ALSO! Klamotten bis auf die Short aus und durch. Da das Wasser so kalt war, musste ich mich wieder anziehen, nachdem ich den Rucksack in Sicherheit gebracht hatte. So... nun viel mir auf, dass mein Fotomodell noch auf der kleinen Insel feststeckte. Geschickterweise hatte auch sie eine Tasche mit Klamotten und noch einen Rucksack dabei. Also zog ich mich wieder aus, bepackte mich mit ALLEN Sachen und watete wieder durch das Wasser, welches mir bis zur Hüfte ging und immer noch saukalt war!? Diesmal brachte ich die Sachen gleich zur richtigen Uferseite, legte sie ab und ging zur Insel, wo mein Modell wartete, um auch sie trocken und sicher an Land zu bringen.Ich sage euch, dass war eine Aktion! Leider haben wir während der ganzen Aufregung keine Fotos mehr gemacht, aber es wäre sicher ein Bild für die Götter gewesen. Man sieht auf dem ersten Bild an dem Stein(links), wie hoch das Wasser dort angestiegen ist!
Merke: Wenn irgendwo ein Schild steht, auf dem vor Wellen gewarnt wird, nehmt es ernst! Die Strömung hätte mich auch umreißen können und schlägt man sich dann den Kopf noch an, siehts sehr schlecht aus! Ich habe daraus gelernt!

Geile Aktion, genau nach meinem Geschmack. So überascht wurde ich noch nie schon gar nicht mit Model aber ich erinnere mich an ein Landscape shot für den ich nach Partynacht durchgemacht, im Morgengrauen anfang Sommer durch dorniges Gestrüpp am Ufer entlang ( Machete missing)eine schöne Stelle suchend auch bis zur Hüfte durchs Wasser gewatet bin, zum Glück war es warm und ich stiefelte sammt Wanderschuhe und Shorts mein Equipement auf dem Kopf am Ufer entlang durch das weit ins Wasser ragende Gestrüpp und Geäst. Aber es hat sich wie bei dir gelohnt...
Also sowas ist mir davor und danach auch nicht passiert... war echt ne Überraschung für uns.
Aber die Aktion bei dir klingt auch super. Komisches gefühl, seine teure Ausrüstung über das Wasser zu tragen, oder? ;)
Ich war viel zu euphorisch wegen der bevorstehenden pics wenn sich der Aufwand lohnen würde + schlaflose Nacht + verkratzte Beine und Arme auch schon ignoriert :D war immer noch sorgsam mit meiner Tasche, ist auch nix passiert aber Platz für Bedenken gabs da nicht ;-)
