Cuba 🇨🇺 - Immerge in another world (English) / Kuba 🇨🇺 - Eintauchen in eine andere Welt
Dear Steemians
After so many people told me since years how great Cuba is and as I only new it from pictures or films, I knew I have to go there when I'm in central america, because it's so close from Mexico.
What do we know about Cuba?
The history of Cuba is very long, but I think one of the most important times was the Revolution, with Che Guevara in the middle.
The names Che Guevara and Fidel Castro are omnipresent.
Cuba is still another world. I have seen a lot of the world, but Cuba was impressive and so different. It's how I imagine it was during the first World war. Supermarkets are almost empty, medicaments are hard to get and the cubanos are waiting in lines for everything for hours.
Oh yes and Internet is only available on public places, and it's not free!
La Habana
In the Capital of Cuba, La Habana you can still see the real Cuba.
Of course the old town is very clean because it's the touristy place. I lived in the centre of the city where the real life happen. Where people are sitting in front of their door the hole day, a cigarre in the Hand and watch the streets, where neighbours playing domino together and streets dirty are.
In every corner you hear music, specialy Salsa, then Cuba is THE country of Salsa.
Havana has also some really nice things to see.
For example the capitolio
But for me one of the nicest things in Cuba are the oldtimers, that's also a reason why we did one pretty expensive Oldtimer cruise through the city
Trinidad
A really nice small colonial city but touristy.
With a lot of colorful streets
And a nice beach only a few kilometers away
Playa Ancon
Or beautiful waterfalls with pools and a great view
El Nicho
Viñales
I would say the most beautiful place in Cuba. I fell in love with Viñales from the first second.
The nature there is amazing, it's so nice and green.
Viñales is really famous for it's tabaco plantations.
That's why we took a horse and rode to a plantation.
And there we learned how Zigarrs are made, and of course we could also try.
Santa Clara
During the Revolution Santa Clara was an important place.
In 1958 Che and his 300 men won the battle of the "tren blindado" which was the beginning of Fidels presidency.
That's why Santa Clara is full of places of Che Guevara.
Like the Statue of Che with a kid, wich should present the future.
Or the mausoleo with a huge Statue of Che and inside a museum and memorial place with all the pictures from soldiers who died with Che in Bolivia.
Cayo Santa Maria
This island is full with all inclusive hotels, but the beach is way nicer than at touristy Varadero
Cuba is a big country and these are my favorit places I visited
Cuba is defenetly a country you should travel too
Liebe Steemians
Was echt wunderschön gemacht wurde.
Cayo Santa Maria

Hola! :) Beautiful photos from Cuba! I just discovered your blog thanks to the @travelfeed resteem and it looks like we both have been to a lot same places recently here in Latin America :) Where exactly are you based in Mexico? We have been living in Playa del Carmen for 2 years now. It is a great base to explore other cool places and countries around :)
Ooh great! I have to check your Profile too ☺️
I was in a few places in mexico. I did Chiapas, Merida and Quintana Roo.
But today I'm flying back home
Ah, I thought you were living somewhere on the Mayan Riviera too. Alright, safe flight back to Europe then! :) Looking forward to your next travel posts :)
