The sheer truth about this man's destiny - Die blanke Wahrheit über das Schicksal dieses Mannes

It is hard to believe, but this fate happens so much here in Sri Lanka, but also in every other country of the world. Where the locals had their places to live, they are displaced by the big hotels.

What exactly happened?

You have to know that this man earned his living by taking the tourists who walked along the beach on a little snorkeling tour. For a small payment, right here in front of the coral reef with his small catamaran and showing the people the beautiful underwater world.

Now it happened, one day after I talked to him. He went out again with his small catamaran and showed the people the underwater world. But this time it was the 5 star hotel, which stands only 500 meters as the crow flies next to it, and their snorkel provider a thorn in their side that this simple fisherman takes away "his" customers.

So the hotel called the police and asked Fsicher if he had a license, which of course he didn't have and can't afford. That was the end. He got a warning and if he is seen again with tourists, then he is threatened with a high fine.

His income, what he had over the last years, was gone from one day to the next. Not that this is the bad thing about it, but the greed of the big hotels. To eliminate every competitor, no matter how small.

What the hotel is not aware of, with every fisherman, with every little man who is wiped out here, natural life is suppressed here. The picture of the still somewhat natural Sri Lanka.......

Es ist kaum zu glauben, aber dieses Schicksal ereilt so viel hier in Sri Lanka, aber auch in jedem anderen Land dieser Welt. Dort wo die Einheimischen ihre Plätze zum leben hatten, werden sie von den großen Hotels verdrängt.

Was ist genau passiert?

Dazu muss man wissen, dass dieser Mann sein Lebensunterhalt damit verdient hat, indem er die Touristen, welche am Strand entlang gelaufen sind, sie auf eine kleine Schnorcheltour geführt hat. Gegen eine kleine Bezahlung, direkt hier vor den Korallen Riff mit seinem kleinen Katamaran und den Leuten die schöne Unterwasserwelt gezeigt.

Nun ist es dann passiert, einen Tag nachdem ich mit ihm gesprochen habe. Er ging wieder mit seinem kleinen Katamaran raus und zeigte den Leuten die Unterwasserwelt. Doch diesmal war es dem 5 Sterne Hotel, welches nur 500 Meter Luftlinie neben an steht, und deren Schnorchelanbieter ein Dorn im Auge, dass dieser einfache Fischer „seine“ Kunden wegnimmt.

So hat das Hotel die Polizei gerufen und dem Fsicher gefragt, ob er eine Lizenz hat, welche er natürlich nicht hat und sich nicht leisten kann. Das war das Aus. Er bekam eine Verwarnung und wird er nochmals mit Touristen gesehen, dann droht ihm eine hohe Geldstrafe.

Sein Einkommen, was er über die letzten Jahre hatte, war von einem Tag zum anderen weg. Nicht das dies das schlimme daran ist, sondern die Habgier der großen Hotels. Jeden noch so kleinen Konkurrenten auszuschalten.

Was dem Hotel nicht bewusst ist, mit jedem Fischer, mit jedem noch so kleinen Mann, der hier ausgelöscht wird, wird das natürliche Leben hier verdrängt. Das Bild des noch etwas natürlichen Sri Lankas......
