Steemit-based Bots Regulation is necessary!

in #devs6 years ago

Hello Steemians,

Steemit is the place where not only the blogger enjoys but the developers too. And every work of developers helps the community in various ways. Bots not only eases the task but also are pretty much accurate on task and time-based scale. If you check the logs of steemit then you will find that 10%+ of total accounts are actually the bot. There is nothing wrong about bots and their participation with other human users. These bots are making tasks easier for us whether it is bid bot or steemit auto voter bot. But as we are growing the count of bots are increasing day by day. It seems like that there is a sudden boom in the count of votes from December 2017 where prices of Steem and SBD are at their peak. (But before I start I want to say that I respect every dev). So why regulations?

Cheaters and abusers!

  • Few of the abusers(I will not going to address these abusers as "devs", I don't want to defame Hard workers and the word "Dev") is creating as many as account possible and downvoting/targeting other users here.
  • My few of the posts were downvoted by some newly created accounts and the problem is as more we are going deep in-search, the more such accounts are getting visible.
  • @enchantedspirit has found around 7+ accounts yesterday who are downvoting more than 1000's of posts every day. @enchantedspirit is observing all these activities and I think she will soon come up with a conclusion. Here is my steemd info.

  • Mass downvoting using a script as they are downvoting a large number of users. These downvotes do not have that much power to cause me a trouble, however, this is still small and we can control or cap such activities before it becomes something that will out of our control.

Regulation and Authenticity!

  • I think this is the right time to sit and think the projection of such activities and how we can control these spammers.
  • Steemit is getting bigger and bigger every day and we are dealing with real assets and money investment. Such spammers can cause a lot of loss and instability in upcoming days.
  • Creating accounts and deploying it with a coding script to hurt others is truly unethical and this must be changed. We can't control account creations but we can keep such abusing bots blacklisted.
  • After blacklisting such accounts, we can take away the steem initial delegation so that it cannot hurt anyone. People supporting such abusers must be taken down. We can't keep gods and devils in the same place.
  • Authenticity is important now, we can't let steemit a testing zone anymore. I understand that steemit is still in beta but a platform with 1 million accounts can't be a testing lab anymore.
  • We can have a white paper for the devs or we can regulate it so we can keep abusers away.

Steemit is the outcome of devs!

  • Devs are like a god to this community, they keep on correcting and repairing stuff so we can have a smooth journey on steemit.
  • Without their scripts, this place will be just like a body without a soul. Today's steemit is the result of all the hard work and dedications that devs have been putting in since 2016 on the steemit. A steemit like an environment is much needed.
  • We can build a separate sandbox where we can deploy our scripts or bots before deploying it on actual platform. This will ensure minimum bugs and maximum optimization.
  • Authenticity and regulation will keep constraints strong and will keep the platform stable. @nijeah's negative withdrawal attempt was one of the recent incidents that caused steemit to go offline for a few hours.
  • I hope that you got what I meant to say in this blog. Let's make steemit strong!

I respect Devs but not abusers!

I just had @astalavasti downvote 3 of my posts.

  • Is there someone to turn them in to, so their delegation gets taken away?

Hi, @vishalsingh4997 ---> The witnesses have identified the culprit behind the flags on your posts and are working to take away his delegation. Here is a post @guiltyparties wrote just a few minutes ago.

I'm waiting for my VP to recover, but I'll be back later tonight to look at your posts and upvote them to help repair any damage. I hope this helps you have a better day. I know mischief like this is annoying!
