Dinner Before The Start of High School

For 21 of the past 22 years the night before school @doctorvicki and @sevinwilsonsdad created a tradition where our family goes to dinner as a family. At first it started with just the kids that are currently in school, but then as some of us graduated from high school and/or college everyone was invited to the dinner. It has since grown to where our significant others attend the dinner as well. The only year that I have not attended was last year as it was just the youngest two siblings that were invited and attended the dinner.

It was good getting the entire family together, well minus Satori as she lives at the beach. Most of us got together yesterday for a fish fry at @morganannwood's house, but the ones who could not make it yesterday were able to come tonight to dinner.

The dinner was scheduled to start at 7:30 and would be at one of our favorite restaurants, Village Pizza. In typical fashion, @sevinwilsonsdad pushed the start time back to 7:45. My youngest sister was already at the restaurant shortly after 7 as she is ALWAYS early to everything. I did not want her to be the only one there so @morganannwood and I went there a few minutes early. Before everyone else came to the restaurant we pounded a dozen garlic rolls.

Shortly after 8pm everyone made it to the restaurant and we could not wait to eat some good Italian food! I had Chicken Marsala for the first time. It was absolutely delicious. I don't think anyone left a bite of food on their plate.

After we finished dinner, each of us gave advice to the kids starting college or in high school. It is always my favorite part of dinner to watch the older kids impart some wisdom on the younger ones. They usually soak it all up and appreciate it dearly.

I am excited for the youngest two kids to continue their high school career while the third youngest starts college!! Fun times ahead in the Wilson household!!
