Venezuela in the dark ?, Learn to make candles! DIY original @carlagonz

in #diy5 years ago

Hello dear steemers.

I apologize for my inactivity in steemit, my country Venezuela, is going through serious problems with electricity and the internet connection is also limited.

One of these days, at home looking for simple distractions that help to pass the time that is eternal, I decided to collect all the remains of candles that were in my house and make a candle, which in these days that we have spent in the dark are very necessary.

Materials:

  • One meter of wick.
  • Wax from past candles.
  • A metal guide (the little metal circle that has the candles at the end).
  • A disposable plastic cup.
  • A pot with water.
  • A metallic container.

Step 1:

Fold the wick in half and roll it up, to form a thicker clinker that will resist the fire for a longer time, insert one end for its guide metal, this to make weight and keep it in the middle of the glass and in the background.

You can also use another metallic instrument to prevent the buoyancy from floating.

Step 2:

Place the pot with water to be boiled, and its metallic tin container of the pot, inside the container the remains of wax of other candles (for 10 minutes approximately), until it melts completely.

Step 3:

Place the end of the wick that does not have the metal guide, rolled on a stick or something that can be held above the glass, dropping in the middle, the other end of the clineja and the metallic guide.

I used a small screwdriver.

Step 4:

After step 2 is finished, empty the wax into the glass, if you want to make it in several colors, you should expect the bottom wax to cool, before you empty the next floor.

I did it in two colors, you can play with the size of the glass and the amount of wax you have to make many fun combinations.

When you finish your combination, remember to impregnate the top of the clineja, with candle wax, so that the wick is not consumed so quickly.

Let cool one or two hours, pass a thin knife around to take off the mold and remove your candle.

🕯️We are ready to use our candel !! 🕯️
