What Can We do with a Pile of Rotten Decking : Hmmm Lets See...

After repairing my old decking i was left with a pile of rotten boards and subframe and other bits.
A few days ago Mike Nevitt made a post about a bargain he'd got and after seeing his post i agreed that he'd got a bargain and you couldn't make one for the money he'd paid.

So lets see if you can...

After planing and drawing this item i made a start

Here we've sorted some decent bits and cut them all to length including any angle that need cutting.

Lets start laying the boards out and planning the best way to screw everything together. Can ya guess what it is yet? Things went pretty much to plan with a couple of awkward screw to tighten.

So we now have the frame made screwed and glued.

Next job is to find something to use as back boards. An old pallet came in handy after removing all the nails. Then it was time to clean up and treat the outer faces only but leave the inside untreated.
Lastly its time to find stuff to fill it up

I used
Thick tree branches
Medium branches and twigs
Rotten subframe beams
Old irrigation pipe
Moss raked from my lawn
Wooden Block with various holes
Pine cone's (i need a few more)

A Bug Hotel

Thanks to Mike Nevitt for giving me the idea and a bit of a challenge. Probably not cheaper than his when you factor time into it but and enjoyable challenge
