DIY Pocahontas
My sister is going to have their Company Annual Dinner this December. Their party theme will be 'Once Open the Time'. She requested me to make a special dress for her. At first she wanted to be Red Riding Hood. Well, few years back I have sewn a Red Riding Hood for my daughter so she's in luck. However, she changed her mind because one of her friend will wear the same costume.
Now she wanted to be an Eqyptian princess. The one that wear all white with gold accessories. Then, she changed her mind again because according to her, white colour will make her look fat... LOL.
In the end, she decided to wear a simple Pocahontas costume. She showed me the picture and coincidently, yesterday I went to a textile shop to buy some fabric for my new curtain. I saw this fabric that I imagine will be perfect to make a Pocahontas's costume which cost RM9.00.
Today, I tried to imitate the costume design. Too bad I don't have enough cloth to make that brown tassels. All left to do is pinned all of the tassels on and sew them on. Hmm.. not bad for a first timer huh..LOL.
I showed it to my sister and she love it!

Ohhh. This actually looks rather nice @verasj, maybe some small frills could work too. the dress is a little too skin tone for my taste but overall you did a really good job because if you throw in a jacket in the future it can also be an office wear.
