The Central Bank of Iran's deputy governor for new technologies said publically that it is illegal to trade Bitcoin in the country.

Iran has officially banned bitcoin trading. (Iran Tasnim news agency) One thing is because many people are fooled into advertising bitcoin trading such as pyramid networks, money laundering cases, misuse of bitcoin mining for certain parties who use Iranian electricity costs that tend to be cheap.
