Postcards from Thailand #8 - Pineapples are coming on nicely

Amongst the many fruits we have growing on the land in Samui, we have relatively few pineapples. I have to show my ignorance now and say before I came out here, I hadn't really thought about how or where they grew before but here you can see they grow in the centre of a bush on the ground, one at a time and take up quite a bit of space.

Generally, I don't like them but the ones grown around here are really sweet and much nicer from ones I've had before.

Few weeks before this one is ready so it looks like the father-in-law will be scoffing it! :-(
