Postcards from Thailand #9 - Mobile Garden Centre

There aren't many businesses that can't be made mobile in Thailand. Motorcycles are equipped with all manner of sidebar and trolleys to sell food and almost anything else.

But what if you can't afford a motorcycle?

No problem, get a hand cart and walk the streets selling your wares!

No, it certainly isn't easy in our heat but needs must and in this case, our entrepreneur is selling plants. He probably does decent business as Thais love plants and every house has lush, tropical greenery hanging and stood in pots everywhere.

Of course, in the bureaucratically obsessed west, you'd need street vendors licenses and third-party liability insurance before you even started, but who'd bother when you have a social security catch-net in place!

I like that. I'm thinking about doing something similar with my wheelbarrow when I've got little plants to sell.
